With all those C54s (which entered service c'45/'46) it looks like Berlin during the airlift but which airport? Templehof maybe?

Atsugi, Japan ? |
Thanks. Here is the next mystery aerodrome: (photo taken in 1950)

It is Yokota Air Base, Japan.
OPEN HOUSE. |
|
Not a bad guess but not correct. You are however in the right general area (East Anglia).
|
Great Massingham.
Ciarain. |
I'll have a bash at Chedburgh
|
Looks like Membury but you said it's East Anglia which Membury ain't.
|
Not Great Massingham, Chedburgh or Membury
|
Those trees remind me of Waterbeach
|
How about Hardwick?
|
Sorry I've been off-line for a while; been worrying about a sick dog all morning.
Time for a clue; this memorial is in the village churchyard and will probably give it away... http://i247.photobucket.com/albums/g...irfield20a.jpg |
Trust that all is well with your dog.
Horham Airfield. 95th Bomb Group. If correct; Open House. |
Thanks for the clue - Horham.
edit - beaten to it.... damn :) |
Horham it is. Open House declared.

olympus - That was an enjoyable, if frustrating, search.
As it is Open House (and I was close), here is another type of aerodrome. http://i1191.photobucket.com/albums/...PRuNe/011A.jpg The date is late 1921 or 1922 - although I'm not sure if that will be of any assistance. |
I 'll take a guess - royal navy airstation Newhaven ?
|
Sorry descol, it isn't Newhaven, or anywhere else in the UK.
