As an opening shot, Military, possibly Auz.
|
Military, not Aus, but with a modicum of GA use.
|
What sport would be played on that odd looking field at the top left of the pic I wonder?
|
This country lists rugby among its sports, though failed to qualify for 2019 World Cup.
|
I knew it. I saw the green green grass of home (UK)
|
Eastern Europe ?
|
Picking up on Dook`s suggestion of Eastern Europe, Romania back in the 1970s to 1990s had quite a formidable national rugby team. That said, possibly too much greenery & also everything too neat & tidy looking. My friend who has just bought me a cuppa, has just said is it Spain?

Not Eastern Europe and not Spain. I gather Georgian props are a valuable commodity in the game these days. Spain may have been in the thoughts of the builders of this field at its inception.

Assuming Europe & Jenkins rugby clue, these are the countries that have been eliminated from the World cup next year.
Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Hmmmmm…. doesn't really narrow it down :) edit: crossed with Jenkins post, so some countries eliminated. |
Europe assumption correct. One must surmise that at the time of the publication regarding the 2019 RWC list this country was still in with a chance of qualifying, since it is not on the list.

Germany is listed as "In progress"? |
So, that's the country. Good effort but Samoa too strong. Now for the field?

Munich area possibly?
|
Is it in what was formerly the DDR ?
|
As it's military, is it other than a German air force base ?
|
Not DDR, and not particularly close to Munich. A former Luftwaffe base, but no longer.
Sorry for delay, Salisbury Hospital since 0400. |
Niederstettten.
I hope you are not unwell. |
Yes, Niederstetten. Former Luftwaffe but current Army. Pedantry, sorry!
All OK, huge variety of health problems take me to Odstock. This was 0400 arrival at A&E, now clear for home, 1500. Wife and I visit Derriford in Plymouth wherein lies wife sister from Kingsbridge. Hospital chaotic, but ward cheerful with several military staff. One expressed a desire for an Aeromed posting. I explained that my first Aeromed had been off the grass at Plymouth in 1970. A vous. |
