Mel used to keep a record of challenges and certainly did for Mks 1 & 2 of this thread.
Meanwhile, slb has the thread. |
It's quick and easy to check if a particular aerodrome has been uses as a challenge, at least on this MK III version of the thread: Simply go to the top right side of the page you are viewing and click on "Search This Thread". Type in the name of the aerodrome you want to use and/or the associated city. It will then display the post and date, if it has been used. Voila. As this thread goes back more than seven years that's a reasonable cut off -- or perhaps the group could agree on a different timeframe between posting of duplicate aerodromes (3 years, 5 years, whatever...) and a Mod could post a sticky with the rules. If no one wants to assume the task and responsibility of record keeping, a simple search will generally suffice.

I'm going to get the spreadsheet of airfields up to date over Christmas.
There are a fair number that have appeared more than once - I've had a couple of them, A number have had their images deleted, so you don't know if which pictures have been used before. Some people delete their posts - which can cause a bit of confusion - especially in the spreadsheet where originally the challengers were referenced by page - I've switched to by date. It would be nice of it could be pinned to the top of the forum as it gets lost in the general thread. |
Meanwhile, slb has the thread. sorry to keep you waiting. Next one is on aircraft ID https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/pprune....204244ba9.jpeg |
What a star nvubu.
In the past some people have deleted their images as soon as the challenge has been solved. There is one person whose name I sometimes see on this site who did it regularly. There is no need to do so. I am a member of another site where the location of the challenge has to be guessed. It's been running for five years and no posts or images have ever been removed. What might be a factor is that no image hosting sites are required and the thread is not at the mercy of them. Images may now be directly uploaded to here. |

SLB Dook, where did you found the Stavanger tower? Because i am sure I saw the beachvolleybal field before. But it might have been when I was searching the Nordic for suitable photos for a new quest. |
Connie …….. ?

Dook, where did you found the Stavanger tower |
I would say that's certainly a Constellation.

Aguadilla-Borinquen (or Rafael Hernández), Puerto Rico.

Dook has a straight hit Rafael Hernández International Airport in Puerto Rico. It looks if the whole Airport has been renovated around it. It must have been there for ages. Over to Dook |
It's been there since February 1992 when it was hit by a runaway DC-4.
