First Dutch military aircraft called

built bij van Meel after a Farham.
van Meel had obtained a air brevet in France and was hired as Civilian pilot instructor.

Aircraft sold to government for 4500 Dutch guilders (without engine!)

Soesterberg first military airfield inspected by the Queen in 1911.

Now closed, has a military museum on its premises.

dook 19th Jan 2019 10:57

JENKINS 19th Jan 2019 12:37

US Navy and USMC at Kwajalein?

dook 19th Jan 2019 12:40

Not Kwajalein.

dook 19th Jan 2019 12:52

Unexpectedly I have to go out for about 90 minutes to two hours. Apologies..

Asturias56 19th Jan 2019 13:28

AMazing - Dook has to go out!! Something so important he can't send the servants..........................

Has this ever happened before???

dook 19th Jan 2019 15:14

No, but I'm back now.

Wot servants ?

Asturias56 19th Jan 2019 15:36

The hours soem people keep on here (just look atteh last intrchange)they must be

1. Running a lighthouse

2. Hospitalized

3. In prison

4. so rich they can afford servants to run everything else

Of course I'd assumed from your posts that, as a perfect gentleman, you were in Cat4

Could it be Guam?

dook 19th Jan 2019 15:45

I wish I were rich. If I were, I would not be on this thread from the UK.

It's not Guam but you are moving in the right direction from Kwajalein.

JENKINS 19th Jan 2019 15:53

I look very often when listening to the wireless on the same device. Radio 4 Extra, BBC UK nostalgia, excellent. At the moment, rugby on TV so device screen not required. Ankle-biting grandchildren a distraction.

dook 19th Jan 2019 15:59

"wireless" - how quaint.

Asturias56 19th Jan 2019 16:47

Jenkins is clearly not just a gentleman but one of the Upper Class

How about Saipan??

dook 19th Jan 2019 16:57

I'm afraid not - that's too close to Guam.
