It opened as Huntsville flying field in the early 30s with a sod runway which closed in 1941- reopened in 1942 with a paved runway- Eastern Airways services began there in 1946 YHC |

Actually double checking my source - I might be talking a load of cobblers as I now think that it might be a generic photo shot relating to the subject in hand.
