Thanks Graeme; Well that's what you called the image!
I don't think this one will hang around for long! http://i1138.photobucket.com/albums/..._WzztCP007.jpg |
Oxygen "Blinker" gauge on the side panel to the top right of the main panel would indicate possibly an aircraft of late 1940s or early 1950s and perhaps a US training aircraft?
|
Good morning Mel,
Not a trainer and it's later than that, but as the manufacturer did make training aircraft, perhaps they used something they had on the shelf!! |
American, possibly an X-plane...c/s / tail no.41620 ?,,,single jet.
|
Hi sycamore,
Yes, yes, yes and yes! Well spotted, I considered taking that plate off the image, so my initial clue when I launched the challenge will probably hold true :ugh: |
X-13......?
|
Good evening Graeme,
Well, it certainly "hung" around for you mate! Hard luck sycamore, you were nearly there, you can have my :ugh: if you like!! It is the Ryan X-13 Vertijet Noyade has control :ok: |

I got called by `management` before I had time to look back at the `yoo-tube` videos ....!
|
Oxygen "Blinker" gauge Sycamore, how can you tell from Trevor's photo it's a single engine jet? I need lessons on cockpit identification. |
Experimental aircraft possibly?
|
Bell X-14 ? Thanks Mel!
|
No problem Bri. I think it must have been a early panel during build.
|
Bell X-14 According to the caption that accompanied my photo above it was a cockpit built for two but the limited thrust-to-weight ratio never allowed it. http://img841.imageshack.us/img841/2...x149574556.jpg |
Thank you. I've seen a photo of an X-14 sitting in a dusty corner of a museum. Speaking of museums, here is the next one:

I`ll start with European, twin piston, possibly another test aircraft...is the pink hue just sunlight or not ?
|
Complete stab in the dark based on the cockpit window layout. The Maerc Sarl H-OO.
|
Complete stab in the dark The colour, top dial layout, acute canopy angle and even the chopper tail...all seems to match... http://img696.imageshack.us/img696/6489/0960607.jpg |
You are too kind Greame, it was just luck trying to match the canopy structure from aircraft in museums.
The aircraft is also known as the Hirsch H-100. I have just found Brian's photo under Hirsch H-100. It is a very interesting aircraft as this other photograph shows. http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c6...l/hirsch-1.jpg |
Mel is correct. :ok:The Hirsch MAeRC H-100. Your control.
