One of those damn dangerous German things- Bachem Natter?

MReyn24050 12th Apr 2011 17:59

Sorry kitbag, this one was not a German nasty thing.

sycamore 12th Apr 2011 19:03

Russian possibly..?

MReyn24050 12th Apr 2011 19:14

Not Russian a bit further East.

sycamore 12th Apr 2011 19:27

Chinee takeawy...or Ah So ?

MReyn24050 12th Apr 2011 19:40

Noyade 12th Apr 2011 23:32

keep going East.
The USA?

Looks like a very tight fit in that cockpit Mel. A very small aircraft? My stab would be the Bell XP-77...?

MReyn24050 13th Apr 2011 00:06

Graeme. Not the USA that is much t0o far east from China.
Be back on in the morning. Have a good day.
Mel

Morning Mel.

OK then, I spun the globe too fast, Japanese? The controls on the port side of the fuselage...are they for the landing gear? Hopefully not, as I'll stab again with the Nakajima Ki-27...?

MReyn24050 13th Apr 2011 12:29

Right country Graeme, Japan. But not the Nakajima Ki-27.

Its a Sun Ray

This Plane was designed by my father and was called Sun Ray. There was a two seater and a single seater. It could land/take off on water. It could be taken apart and slipped into a trailer in 20mins and it also could be flown by remote control. It was made of compsite and we had to line it with aluminum foil to be seen on radar. This picture is from 1987 ish. The Smithsonian has one in their archives and when My father sold the business and the remaining aircrafts and designs the sale had alot of Gov't attachments on who and where it could be sold too. He tried to sell it to the Gov't to be drone type aircraft plus it could be crated and air dropped assembled very quickly. They said there was no need for an aircraft like this......my how times have changed ;o)
