Wunper 10th Apr 2008 07:19

Not Wildenrath

Speedpig 10th Apr 2008 14:03

Is it a NATO base?

Wunper 10th Apr 2008 14:37

Very much so

evansb 10th Apr 2008 15:47

Ramp 'G' at CFB Cold Lake, Alberta ? Photo taken during Exercise 'Maple Flag'.

Wunper 10th Apr 2008 16:35

Evansb Correct it is 419 squadron Moose Meadows at CYOD (for the full cigar it was Maple Flag XXI June '88)

You have control!

Looks like NAS Kodiak, with PBY-5A's and Chance Vought OS2U Kingfishers, probably of VS70??

Cubs2jets 11th Apr 2008 03:03

While a Kingfisher may be a water bird, and visible somewhere in the picture, I know that the planes sharing the ramp with the two PBY's are Ducks! :hmm:

Sorry it is not NAS Kodiak. The Ducks do look cold, don't they?

Speedpig 11th Apr 2008 06:17

Are the Ducks from 10th Air Rescue Group?

If so, I'll have a stab at Cordova.

StbdD 11th Apr 2008 06:52

NAS Sitka, AK

twochai 11th Apr 2008 09:51

NAS Adak??

evansb 11th Apr 2008 14:09

Sorry gents. It is not Sitka, Cordova nor Adak. That leaves little else doesn't it?

sabredog 11th Apr 2008 15:44

Dutch Harbour?

evansb 11th Apr 2008 15:50

sabredog is correct:ok: Dutch Harbour, Alaska was the site of a battle between Japanese and American forces during WW.II. You have control.

sabredog 11th Apr 2008 16:40

Thank you. Open House.

twochai 11th Apr 2008 17:38

Excuse another pigboat, but it really was the best of the boats.

Dan D'air 11th Apr 2008 18:32

Catalina??

twochai 11th Apr 2008 18:36

Yup, otherwise designated as the PBY-5A, but known to all and sundry as the 'Pigboat' - with good and sufficient reason, I can confirm.

The question on this forum is: "Which Airport"?
