Could it possibly be Russian. Such as IL-12?

gruntie 23rd Nov 2005 18:17

You're both wide of the mark. Think big .

tilewood 23rd Nov 2005 18:32

Could it be a Boeing Stratocruiser? :hmm:

sycamore 23rd Nov 2005 18:38

gruntie 23rd Nov 2005 18:42

Shackleton.....................

Mr_Grubby 24th Nov 2005 13:28

I think it's a Hastings.

Clint.

forget 24th Nov 2005 13:51

If it ain't an early Shack - then it's a York. (Perhaps.)

Gainesy 24th Nov 2005 15:02

As Grubby says, Hastings.

Argonautical 24th Nov 2005 15:11

Mr Grubby is correct. It is a Hastings. Flew in one as an air cadet at Lindholme and recently saw the one at Cosford. It was much larger than I had remembered.

Nope.
Not a Provider.

forget 25th Nov 2005 09:07

Alright then - Fairchild C-119 Boxcar, almost identical part from the paint job.

Mr_Grubby 25th Nov 2005 09:20

Bof 25th Nov 2005 10:29

What cockpit

Hey there forget - you weren't really trying to say that a C119 was practically identical to a C123 were you?

forget 25th Nov 2005 10:48

OK, that's stretching it somewhat - but I was referring to the picture - control yoke, throttle quadrant, centre instruments etc etc. Different glareshield (due perhaps to the different airframe) is the obvious giveaway.;)

Argonautical 25th Nov 2005 15:08

Here's one for the weekend :-
