Middle Georgia Regional, Macon it is.
Zantop from Willow Run had a major maintenance facility at Macon.
The Electra was Channex's first one. It was operated by Channex on Zantop's AOC as N347HA for nearly 2 years before going back to America to have mods done for UK certification. It was re-registered as G-OFRT and we ferried it back to the UK in November 1991, Macon, Gander, Prestwick, Bournemouth. My only transatlantic flight as crew.
Zantop initially put GO-FART as the registration as a joke, in temporary paint with G-OFRT underneath.
The Aer Turas DC-8 was having mods done to the cargo door.

Thanks dixi. As I'm sure you realised I've been following the Zantop link from the start. I only picked up the maintenance base later which was a bit careless when I think about it. Interesting facts about the Electra.
Off to sunnier climes for a bit so Open House I'm afraid.

…and kcockayne got there first, obviously by identifying the Hawaiian traffic cone. Never trust a Jerseyman in the dark.
All yours Mr C.

Thanks. Will post a challenge as soon as I am able - several airfields in my “portfolio”. Delay in reply was caused by being unable to recharge my iPad. In the meantime, open house.
It was the shield volcano that put me in mind of Maui. Went there20 years ago. Surprised I remembered it !
