Which Aerodrome Mk IV
We flew in when it was Air Tungaru from Tarawa- family of 4, 4 Ozzy missionaries and a gentleman from Fiji traveling in "suiting's"
in flight we were served sandwiches and cans of a purple grape drink tossed back by the co-pilot - my "not quite yer actual Singapore Girl is it" got a rousing response
Problem was they could carry passengers south but the winds stopped them taking anything but mail north - some people had been stuck on Funafuti for weeks - including the Cardinal of W Samoa and his padre- the Cardinal was a really nice bloke but BIG
As Bear clearly had it its over to him

Europe perhaps?
German speaking locally?
Looks like Sifty is talking about Kennemer Zweefvlieg Club
Sifty has it with the Gliding site Langeveld
Home of the Kennemer Zweefvliegclub.
Right under approach to AMS 09.
Which indeed makes it left of AMS 06.
Take It away Sifty.

Thanks SLB; I breathed a sigh of relief when the new 18R / 36L was opened in AMS all those years ago not least because it was a change of view. Now it’s a nice welcome when 06 is the landing runway for the time saved. Valkenburg is no longer a distraction sadly.
this shouldn’t last too long.

Also in the background a Spanish-registered Metroliner belonging to Flightline, so I'll say Spain and start with Barcelona.
G-JOTS has been seen at airports in just about every W European country
Unlikely to the Netherlands I think
Looks like some industrial activity in the distance - perhaps Italy?

I also identified the metroliner but disregarded Barcelona because of the fairly empty ridge/line above it.
But as Sifty only denies Barcelona and not explicitly Spain, I stay in Spain and stab for:
Madrid-Barajas Adolfo Suárez Airport (MAD)
