In attempting (and failing) to clarify, it seems I have caused some confusion. My apologies.
It is in a Nato country but this airfield has no current military connection. It is not in any of the countries mentioned above.
Here is another picture:

Thanks - looks quite well established and rather neat........ but not Germany or France........
Benelux perhaps?

It is indeed Kortrijk-Wevelgem. Known simply as Wevelgem when I first went there, then became Kortrijk-Wevelgem and now likes to be known as Flanders International! Built by the Germans in WW1.

Would I be a million miles/km out by saying Quebec somewhere? Purely based on what suspiciously like a Buffalo Grill 'restaurant' mid right. As they're a French Chain and the roads look too wide to be France and there appear to be a couple of pick-ups in the pic too
Gander....?
can you confirm Canada?
Definitely Eastern Canada. There are not many large airports so I did a search starting in the east.
My mistake! It's the western-most big airport in Ontario - Thunder Bay Airport, CYQT. The white stripes on the hill in the distance are the now-abandoned ski runs at Candy Mountain.

Close enough for government work At least it was the right country When I said Quebec I meant the state not the city!
