To be fair, the Airspeed AS.39 to the same requirement was only marginally less hideous. Perhaps the design brief was "See if you can outdo Blackburn in the ugly department."

Its often the boring US identikit private aircraft that last a long time on here - the really weird tend to stick in people's memories
