Silhouette challenge
SincoTC
I guess we were both on at the same time. I did eventually find the Hoffar H-1
here:
The Ongoing Mystery Aircraft Thread Part Deux.
Its one of those aircraft which only exists in picture form in books and forums quizzes!

Reg,
A military project, larger than a Hercules and was supposed to ready for initial flight proving trials in 2012
Mechta, I suspect that Graeme just printed a label and put in on the scanner at the same time as his book, I don't think he approves of digital editing too much, or TheAerodrome for that matter!!

It's coffee and clue time!
I will accept two well known names (or even three if you can offer proof), because I have found the same image with different accreditation
The name of the study that generated it will be enough, and I venture to say, with considerable fear of retribution from the "PC brigade", that its title puts me in mind of a wheelchair rather than an aerospace project!

None of those here mate.
I didn't have "Roll-on Roll-off" in mind Reg, but I suppose most modern military airlifters would be capable of that, includind this one I believe (and more).
I was thinking of an alternative name for a wheelchair, like a "something" aid or device!!

Are you looking for AMC-X - Advanced Mobility Concept Aircraft?
Like YC-14 Truck but newer. Same engine upper surface blow concept ("Ears") but different tail.
EDIT: Notthrop AMC-X Northrop studies future USAF lift-25/04/2006-Washington DC-Flight International
So, no upper surface blow

I have seen this Image saying it's a Northrop-Grumman and another saying a Lockheed proposal.
It was also part of the US Air Force Research Laboratory's (AFRL) Integrated Lift, Propulsion and Control Program (ILPC), also, the Multi-Mission Mobility Program (MMMP). I think it suffered a creeping "death by acronym"!! I guess that in the end, nobody could could remember what it was called or what it did, but I bet someone's still pocketing the funding

Thanks TC. This is the Northrop-Grumman. I believe following the same study Lockheed was awarded another contract to upgrade the C-130.
LM, do you have still something to post for me, say my #8997?
EDIT: LM's light is off, so OPEN HOUSE.

Reg, I think you'll find that LM is on the way home right now and will be back on-line in a little over an hour. He will probably be able to post for you then, that's if nobody has taken advantage of your OH before then!
Good evening/guten abend.
I'll try to get something up for RegDep very shortly - just looking at his last reference.............
Edit to say wossat? Beware the Open House...........
