McCabe 1917 Biplane???

Powered by a Thor V-twin, hence the Norse god connection.

Thanks LM,

It looks as if the designer is commemorated in his home town of Lexington, Nebraska. there is either a modified (taildragger) version of the actual plane, a replica or a model on display there:

Dawson County Historical Society Museum - Lexington, NE

and here's the next one.

Now that looks very Russian.

Maybe a copy of the British Flying Bedstead called the "Turbolet"......

You're both right, its the LII Turbolet from Russia, and it is their equivalent of the Flying Bedstead.

LII is the Flight Research Institute in Zhukovski.

RegDep was more detailed, but Lightning Mate came up with the name first, so over to you LM

My first post was:

Now that looks very British.

Maybe a copy of the Flying Bedstead called the "Turbolet"......
This was because a few glasses of Scottish Broth meant I didn't realize I was looking at a Russian site. Then I realized and edited my post.

This has obviously off RegDep since he has buggered off.

Since I am (was) an awfisser and gentleman I am happy to give it to Reg, if that's OK with you Mechta. After all, the only thing which is important is that we have a challenge up and running.

So, this one is on behalf of RegDep, and bye bye for now.

Thanks LM. I like the challenge.

And yes, I spotted LM's first mistake, found it was Russian and not British, and shot right away. But morally (know the word, LM?) it's all his.

And, as we remember, often those who shoot down fighters come from dead angle, unnoticed.

Guten Tag Reg,

A bit late for coffee this morning.

Your challenge looks like the Canadian Hoffar H-1 to me!

Hi Sinco, Where on earth did you find that? I can't find a reference to Hoffum anywhere!

Oh, Hoffar. Now I'm finding stuff.

Blimey Mechta!!

You're quick off the mark, I posted in haste as my break was over and realised as soon as I saw it appear that I had a typo, so I edited it straightaway, sorry for causing you some confusion.

It is a bit obscure, unless you know where a certain person sometimes loiters whilst on CAP

Good afternoon gentlemen.

I note that at post #14897 RegDep gave it back to me, so I therefore award the win to TC.

If you would be kind enough to give me ten minutes I will post another on behalf of TC......

Yet another BMDO RAPTOR UAV prototype? They had versions where a pilot was riding on a "saddle" on top of the "semi-unmanned AV" and the like.

And sorry for the confusion on the previous post. Got distracted.

EDIT: If not that, at least something common with Burt Rutan?

I'm happy to report that this is't yet another UAV prototype!! Yes I saw that "ride em cowboy" saddle idea recently, we must have been chasing the same challenge.

This one's much larger, only an artists/computer impression, a contract was placed, but I haven't heard much about it lately and suspect it may have been killed off

Sorry mate, I'm working, so there may be some delays, but not too much I hope. Nothing to do with Rutan!
