Oh dear LM, after all that work.......Sinco, you are correct. It is the Javelin V6 STOL, now referred to as the Ford V6 STOL and nicknamed the Defunky Cub!

The engine was of course a Ford V6, and as I discovered, if you do a search for that and Piper PA-22 you'll come up with the reference to the Javelin. I'll forward the details by separate message.

In the meantime, its over to you Sinco.

That is a surprise looking at the photo I found. Sorry LM, I did have a hard trawl at lunchtime, but searching for V-6 didn't work on Aerofiles, however, just now, after looking at the wing, I searched for V6 STOL (without the hyphen) and I only got the Javelin!!

I'm back to work again now, so it'll have to be the inevitable Open House please

You'll find some info on the V6 STOL in this magazine which is available on the web:

Here is the 3-view from the web:

Thanks guys - great challenge Ken.

I would love to respond, but Memsab says BT have not yet fixed our telephone line.. They say it will be fixed by 1700 - bet it's not.

Thus likely to be unable to monitor the thread. Good luck with whoever/whatever comes up next.

Possibly nite nite - see you all tomorrow.

Good evening Ken,

I think that's Ben Ellison's Gweduck AKA "Gooey Duck", with a pair of piston Lycoming IO-540's, but they do look like turbines at that angle don't they?

I was hoping to stick around for a couple of hours, but I've just got an emergency "remote access" call coming in from a customer in Canada, so I don't suppose I'll be back tonight, so Open House please if correct. I can only see Mel online at the moment and LM probably won't be back 'til the morning, sorry mate!

You've got it Sinco, it is the Gweduck....the turboprop ploy worked for a while at least!

Open House is declared. If there is anyone else out there, now is your chance!

Morning Graeme..that tail reminds me of the Higgins helicopter (a recent challenge)....would this be a Higgins project (the H3 maybe)?

Are those doodles or Sea Gulls in the top right?!

Hope all ok?

"Helo" Ken.

This is what I found when looking for RR's challenge (Higgins) last week. Not a Higgins and it remained a project. This is the 'enclosed' version and the last time I looked there was a similar looking drawing of the 'open' configuration on the net.

Are those doodles or Sea Gulls in the top right?!
Doodles. No maritime connection with this machine. They could be eagles.

Hope all ok?
It's all good mate. Thanks for asking.

Hi Graeme

It's all good mate
Good, pleased to hear it.

Your mention of an open version reminded me of something....which I have now found. Is it the Boeing 401?

Yes, I was beginning to wonder where everyone was. Not even any sign of David this morning.

You've had a long day of it mate bearing in mind your early start...?

Looks old but in fact modern?
You have seen through my plan! Yes its modern.

Yeah it has. We picked up my son from the bus not long ago. He loved it, never seen snow before.
Not even any sign of David this morning.
He mentioned telephone line problems? But he'd be at work now?

Hmmm...how modern? I was thinking of the L-60?

Edit: Forget that, yours is a parasol.

Homebuilt, I know you luv'em?
