Just beat me to it LM, Consolidated that is, not Lockheed!

Or maybe it's the Consolidated P-25

You're right there, it did have a three-bladed prop, but I didn't notice the sleeker cowl It does look like it's the Lockheed YP-24, but the Altair XP-900 seems to be an AKA for the P-24 !

Gotta go now, good hunting!

I agree with LM and have found the same photo titled Detroit-Lockheed YP-24 but with a note that the YA-9 was similar

David has it. It is indeed the Detroit-Lockheed YP-24.

I told you it would be easy. LM has control.

Thank you kindly Mel.

Now you know that I do not often delay in my responses, and this is a silhouette challenge to satisfy the purists, but I have left the engine not filled in:

OK Richard, it does not always have to be difficult for us all to have fun.

My next one will be a bastard.

Your control.

Any connection with Dayton Wright TA-3?

It's not. I just like making wild guesses....I'm allowed to, now that I'm old!

Old !!!! So you've reached a Half Century "not out", I suppose it's an excuse (if one is ever needed ), to pull another cork!
