Japanese?

G'day RR! Computer died. With a "System Recovery" I've managed to reconnect with PPRuNe but I've lost all images, links, bookmarks etc. Such is life.

Anyway, I'm going with the Mitsubishi 3MT5A Type 93.

Well, I think it is. Found a small image of it on the net...

Bang on Noyade, and close enough. Well done. The 3MT5A (see below) had twin-fins and other mods as a result of stability issues with the single-fin version, the 3MT5. Only four 3MT5s were built. As it turned out the 3MT5A also had stability issues and only seven were produced. Those in service were withdrawn in 1941.

I guessed you'd have it once you were back on. You have control..... RR

Evening to you RR! Just out of historical curiosity, Mikesh and Abe's "Japanese Aircraft 1910-1941" seems to have it the other way round? According to them the later versions (1933) with the twin tail and 4-bladed props were the 3MT5 and the earlier (1932) version with the single tail and 2-bladed props were the 3MT5A?

Whatever, good challenge! For a long time I was convinced it was British and then American.

Flying silhoutte of a different kind. I want his name. He died in 1937 doing this...

Clem Sohn, by any chance? There was also, I seem to recollect, a German birdman between the wars, whose suit had more conventional wings. But Wikipedia tells me there were about 75 of them. Open House, if I'm right.

Could be Clem Sohn.
He was killed in 1937 because of a wet parachute.

I'd say III.
As I remember it, the others have higher cockpit coaming.

Doesn't matter that much. It will have to be open house again. I am at work. Sorry.
