That invites another question then.

Was the original a piston to which two outboard jets have been added, or was it originally a four engined piston?

Something derived from the Me 264?

I can find lots of proposed derivatives of the Me 264 but not one like that!

I'm sure it is a Me-264 derivative, those jet looking engines are actually steam turbines!

Thanks Mel. I can't access that site but I have found others with reference to the steam turbine variant. Anyway assuming it is then buttrick was there first. In any case its RR's call.

Ah, but Amerika Bomber was the project name, not the aircraft. Several designs carried that title.

Morning Martin. It should go to buttrick...he came up with the Me-264. All I did was look for odd variants! Anyway working today so cannot come out to play!

31 Sqn Star of India is on my jet.

I do have a challenge ready, but I can only monitor at hourly intervals.

that looks like a Blohm und Voss Ha.137 ??
