Repost of my test
I have found two variations on this aircraft. One with solid booms instead of open frame as shown, and the other with ovoid booms outboard of the fuselage.

It's not the Nemeth circular wing, but the Nemeth Umbrella Plane.
However, that's good enough for me mate - deal done.
Graeme has the thread.

04/30/2011. Also nicknamed the Umbrellaplane, Roundwingplane and Parachuteplane, this peculiar aircraft was designed by Steven Paul Nemeth of Chicago, Illinois, and was constructed by students of the Miami University at Oxford, Ohio, it first flew in 1934. It had a circular wing trussed above a lengthened Alliance Argo fuselage, powerplant was an 110 hp Warner Scarab five-cylinder air-cooled radial engine. It had STOL performance.
The Nemeth circular wing has one wing, which is clear in Graemes' link.
The Umbrella plane has two - standby for photograph.
Anyway, I've given it to Graeme so be quiet!!
Please also NB the cowled engine, which is absent on Graemes' link photograph.
