Good evening / afternoon/ morning gentlemen.

You all seem to misunderstand me.

I do not throw toys out of cots because I will be 64 years old on Saturday.

The thread has been great fun, but relies upon rules and discipline to maintain fluidity and continuity. At the moment the other two threads on AH display this quality and this one does not!

When people take things into their own hands you have anarchy, which is an undesirable situation where there are no rules.

I am NOT an old fuddy-duddy, but I know full well that the best societies thrive on well set rules and discipline.

I do not wish to say this, but as an ex-military officer I have had to do/say many things in my life which I have not wanted to. So here's an example:

RegDep, my friend, you were out of order.

There are two absent players who I know will agree with me, and you all know who they are!!!

I identify the last challenge as not an aircraft silhouette and so it is invalid.

However, I think it represents a child throwing things out of a cot, and since I have to leave for 31 minutes and the new time limit seems to be 30, I will have to declare Open House.

Enjoy the thread gentlemen. Good evening.

LM,

I didn't take the things into my own hands because I wanted to be out of order.

I just was not sure of the duration of your absence, and believed (honestly) that it would be in the spirit of the thread to keep it going. **** happens, and people forget to declare open house when they are not available.

My request to you, maybe unfortunately phrased, was to forgive me, come back, and play the ball, not necessarily my behaviour.

I respectfully repeat my request: Lightning Mate, come back to the thread; lets go on with the friendly banter, and have fun. I'd hate to withdraw from the great company that I have found and had in this thread, and believe the same goes with you.

What else can I say, except that I will be 70 next September.

Your faithful wingman
Reg

And please remember that I am not a native English speaker, so if something that I write sounds improper, give me the benefit of doubt.

I, and everyone else on thread, have always done that. I have trained pilots from ten different nations.

But that does not exclude you from the rules my friend.

Enjoy the thread mate. I have been tempted as a farewell to write your real name, but I will not. Another aspect of command is confidentiality.

Come on chaps, calm down. Life is too short for this sort of palaver.
From my limited experience of this thread,it is extremely well run and disciplined, with just the right amount of banter and humour.Just look at some of the other threads to see anarchy at its best! Please don't let a perceived slight or misinterpretation of the RoEs spoil some obviously good friendships.
LM,accept the olive branch extended by Regdep, and let byegone be bygones.
Respectfully,Sir, from an ex N.C.O.
Tacklebury.

Well said Tacklebury; my sentiments exactly !!

How about that, gentlemen?
Come on David; can't you see that Reg misinterpreted your statement, "I have to go before my scheduled time." this, following on from previous remarks that your time on the thread would be limited today, and especially as you didn't say that you would be back soon, or in "x" minutes, as you almost invariably do when you have to go and take a class!! It was a genuine mistake, for which he has apologised and there was no intention to breach etiquette or discipline!

I now deeply regret that I found time for a hasty coffee and made my guess, your light was already out when I posted and I didn't notice that you had already been awarded the win by Reg, so I logged out and went back into the worshop for the rest of a very hectic day. As I logged out, I noticed several "names" on the active list, so I do feel that in answering my post, poor Reg felt pressured into his decision and his worthy desire to avoid your pet hate of a stalled thread. So come on mate, you did overreact at the end of a disrupted and probably frustrating day! Be a true gentlemen, accept the hand of friendship and return to the thread, life is too short for this and we need your banter to get SC to a million replies, let alone your own 7000 mark

Yes mate. The shelling has stopped.

Fancy a clue? I'm disappointed with the tail BUT it is accurate from the original drawing...

G'day Martin.

I blacked out a drawing. The drawing is reasonably accurate.

Tri-motor.

Italians made a lot of tri-motors, but this is not a Savoia-Marchetti product Martin.
