Right, chores done.

Now, am I looking at an early horizontally-opposed four?

Good call LM...it is indeed a horizontally-opposed four. Lycoming to be precise.

Evening LM...not a homebuild. Early 1940's design.

Otherwise could be Brazilian CNNA HL-6B Carué with Lycoming O-290, but the fin/rudder looks smaller than in pictures.....

You're correct RD, it is indeed the Tezuitlan from Mexico. Excellent research

Thanks Skytrain!

Excellent research
Well. The only thing I was excelling in was multiplication: Two times 145 equals 290. And to know that one can search Russian sites with Latin letters in engine names, if the engine is "western", even if you (me) do not know Russian. The rest of the research was all LM's. To be LM's wing man is a good place to be .

I'll see what I can do to the self-inflicted open house.

I sure does, dosn't it?

Very low staying-power / silhouetting time ratio .

In fact, there was a slight falsification in the silhouetting: the right hand engine in the picture was feathered and one of the two propeller blades should have been made visible.

All yours skytrain

Thanks RegDep.

Must admit I was trying to work out what all the bulges were on the engine....now I know!

Just catching up on some work at present, so bear with me for 30 mins and I'll be back.

Some of them are signs of silhouetting problems in old printed photos .
