Who could resist that cute little "smiley face"?? What calibre cannons are lurking in those eyes?

Well, sort of project mode. This one did fly but did not make it to production. Looks funny, doesn't it. Like wanting you for breakfast .

Not so sure the eyes are cannons, though.

No obvious hardpoints....so behind the face, is there a canon, or is this aircraft for less destructive purposes?

I'd say it's for more destructive purposes than what can be accomplished with "just" cannons.... And there is a lot more of the aircraft behind the face than you first think

Edit: E.g., the big mouth is 3.5 meters behind the propeller cone.

"Fast support bomber"......

Edit:
And there is a lot more of the aircraft behind the face than you first think
Not to waste a good Sunday in a challenge with too few hard points: You will find two engines in tandem there, too.

LM, that's correct. I knew we are on the same page.

The one (from a different designer) that made it to production (over 11,000 built) was Pe-2.

Your turn

Sadly, you chose one which I had already silhouetted as a challenge.

No apology required.

Everyone - go and re-check the Guy Gibsons' dog thread.

Three-bay unequal wing biplane with nine cylinder radial and skis (not for snow but skis....)? Or does one call that four-bay?
