Looks like a single seater? A racing aircraft, possibly from the US?

You're all alone out there.

Perhaps I should say that this never left the drawing board.

It was designed for a single purpose.

Not a fighter - I would think it too slow for that, but you're on the right track.

(and it would need more than one gun for that).

Can you think of a more modern (American) aeroplane with one gun......?

Sorry for the delay.

Yes - a cannon - calibre unknown.

Dunno about the aeroplane weight either, but I don't think it would be a lightweight.

Medium weight maybe, and fixed gear to boot!

So what would a large cannon be used for if it was not a fighter?

Ground attack, as you have said - but the type of target would give you a big lead.

I really did not think that would last so long.

Sorry skytrain, you did most of the work.

Well done Ton.

You have control.

Good evening Ton,

It's the 1949 AirUtility AU-18

Please declare Open House when you confirm, as I'm going offline now 'til tomorrow morning.

I think this is very interesting:

PMs for all UK players.

Ton, this is not an insult to you, but we are trying to organise a meeting for a weekend.

You are very welcome to join us, but I appreciate that we are, in timescale, a long distance from you.
