Thanks gents...nice to be back for a while!

Well after Sinco's offering I couldn't resist this one - apologies for the quality!

Would look very Russian to me, except for the landing gear. Question: Warsaw-pact country?

Hi RD...not Russian or a Warsaw pact country.

Gather you've been out mixing it with the Elk up in Iceland? Hope you had a good holiday.

Not Iceland Skytrain. Mainland Europe . My trip was very good. Four days, four towns. Elk, deer, pheasant and reindeer. Not one day wasted .

Was the challenge designed specifically for vehicles?

Not just could...it is. Yes its the Saab 1073 transport. Not many details on it, but it is described as a passenger transport, so I'm guessing that LM is probably right that the concept may have been designed to carry both pax and vehicles...a more modern Carvair!

Sinco has control.

Thanks Ken,

Unfortunately, I have to go now for a few hours, so not to stall the thread which is going on quite nicely, I'll call an Open House

One magazine describes it as an "87 passenger short-haul transport"...
