Only one I ever held was a Kalashnikov. Do I need to recognise more?

Yes mate - two 30mm Adens on a Jaguar.

40 rounds per second from two guns when hot!

Makes your eyes water in a big way!!!!!!!!

Yes he's back. Aircraft recognition as bad as ever (I once thought I saw a Beagle Pup 3000' over the Malvern Hill - got closer and it turned out to be an Eagle).

That looks 1930's - the N-struts, poss Curtis, poss a big gun (COW gun type) or turret? But why no undercarriage? Is it retractable (Staggerwing style) or is the thing an amphibian shown at a fiendish angle?

I once came second in my ATC Wing's aircraft recognition competition, but it was a lot easier than this and half of these aircraft probably hadn't been built.

Curtiss F9C2 Sparrowhawk. I suppose you all knew anyway. And in fact passed ample clues to the semi-blind newbie spotter.
