No, it's a conventional heavier-than-air machine...

As promised here is another photo of the same cockpit, from a slightly more conventional angle.

On the money evansb, over to you. Would you have got that from the first photo alone? This was going to be the next "clue"...

Actually, yes. I didn't need the second photo as I just flew on a Jetstream last Friday from CYEG to CYQL. Here is the next challenge:

Would it have Eastern Bloc origins by any chance?

Here is another view/clue: (I must apologize too, as this cockpit was posted before, more than three years ago..but the source may have mislabeled the original photo. I can, however, confirm the identity of this cockpit with 100% accuracy)

Sorry, not the Let-410. The mystery aircraft is more of a personal pleasure craft, although it does have a remarkable utility.

The mystery cockpit is from the Aero-Volga LA-8 Amphibian. I think the cockpit shown in the March 2008 challenge identified as a LA-8 was actually the LA-6. I should know, as I posted the challenge. I declare OPEN HOUSE.

Open House; if you `google` early Bell Helos ,there`s a very good U-Tube set of videos of how they started in a garage...excellent stuff..

Fairly easy one for the experts.
Believe a close relative of this has been posted before.
