You're all in roughly the right time frame, but this is mainland European, and operated by a number of nations.

Spot on Ali Qadoo, an aircraft I've always found pretty. It won the NATO Lightweight Strike Fighter competition of 1953, meeting some pretty stringent demands in the process, used by Germany, Greece, Italy and Portugal over 700 built. A further development was replacing the single Orpheus turbo jet with a pair of GE J85 reheated engines in a slightly refined airframe.

Just out of interest, does anybody else know of a similar in service evolution i.e. jet single to twin engine design?

Over 12hrs without a bite? Just to be helpful, ASW28-866 was in the right part of the world and the correct wing count.

Kitbag - 2 seats too many.

ASW28 - not the mini-Fury (although there was one parked only 50 yards from the mystery cockpit).

I didnt know there was a specific type called 'Ragwing'. I must look it up.

Anyway, no.

There are 25 of the challenge type on the CAA register, so it isn't exceedingly uncommon.
