Evansb has it in one!

The Eurocopter UH 72 Lakota, over 340 are on order. Based upon the EC145 they are intended to replace the ubiquitous UH1.

Now, should we just let this thread die quietly?

Looks like `Something very self-important`,large single piston,probably a trike,non retracting,from USA ?

Prewar British military by the colour, thought perhaps something like the Miles Magister, but maybe with a stalling speed of 40mph the Cierva autogyro may be more likely.

Sycamore has it ! I have seen this refered to as Tipsy Trainer 1 and Tipsy and others I think ?

This is the one in question, taken a few weeks ago at Panshanger, looks to be under restoration, maybe to fly ???? Keith.

Sorry, not from Germany. Not an experimental or research aircraft either. It did, however, accomplish a couple of firsts.

With such a basic set of instruments I don't think this is the pilots station, could it be for a bomb aimer?

Can I see 2 altimeters on the panel?

Not a prone pilot aircraft. Photo is the aft cockpit of a tandem seating configuration. Series production totalled just under 150 examples.
