Feb 2021 is for cabin crew, Sep 2020 is for NB tech crew from what I can see. Maybe we’re reading different parts of JEN.

The problem with the PBS is that the Jepp package could have been purchased with its own built in PBS from day one but the powers that be are creating their own interface so that they can keep rocade. This interface is being created by volunteers and part time programmers so I wouldn't hold out hope that the PBS is going to be some sort of miracle solution. Having previously worked at an airline with the Optimiser and the JEPP PBS it was fantastic, however there is no way in hell that Jetstar is going to allow the full flexibility like roster swaps online and a true open time where you can put unwanted trips to be picked up by whoever wants them. I have been told by managers that they don't feel 'comfortable' giving the pilot group that sort of control which is why we are creating our own system.

I wonder how much QF voting up their SH agreement will work against the JQ boys and girls. Hoping for the best but expectations are not high unfortunately.

You wanna know what a half arsed PBS and optimizer give you? Ask someone at VAA.

How would it go against the pilot group?

AFAP have requested QF to explain why they signed a deal with more than 3% when they have been solid saying 3% is the group policy.

I’d like to know which SH agreement has greater than 3% because it’s not the one I voted on.....

SandyPalms 3rd Feb 2020 07:44

Just out of curiosity, what do the geniuses in the AFAP think QF Shorthaul got?

Beer Baron 3rd Feb 2020 09:51

Well they got about a 50% increase to their sick leave provisions for starters.

(Not speaking for AFAP here)

CamelSquadron 5th Feb 2020 13:35

Is the 3% offer still on the table or has that being pulled?

wheels_down 6th Feb 2020 03:19

I think union talks were rescheduled from last week to next week. Tuesday to Wednesday next week.

So they actually have not spoken to them yet. I guess you will hear more at the end of next week.

dragon man 6th Feb 2020 06:51

The 3% is fixed with no offsets required except for long haul pilots who must contribute to the purchase of new aircraft starting 4 years before they actually arrive.

blubak 7th Feb 2020 06:03

They said they were selling the 787's,arent they the aircraft operated by long haul pilots?
oh yeh thats right, another story to suit the circumstances!

B772 9th Feb 2020 02:32

I have been told 3 x B787-8 a/c have indeed been advertised for sale. I could obtain further information and the MSN's if requested.

That might be helpful

Ollie Onion 9th Feb 2020 06:19

Does it really matter, Low Cost Longhaul on widebodies is a fine art and one that I can’t see Qantas Group percevaring with for much longer when he majority of routes can be flown on more long range narrow bodies. If you are in Jetstar and want to fly Widebodies I would recommend doing it sooner rather than later, by the way it will have NOTHING to do with the EBA when they do go no matter what HQ says.

Banana_man 9th Feb 2020 06:21

MSN 36231, 36232, 36233

VKF, VKG, VKH

Looks like they weren’t bluffing.

Fleet it be all NB by 2025 A321LR/XLRs to replace the 787 flying

StudentInDebt 9th Feb 2020 20:49

You don’t suddenly decide to flog off your 787 fleet because the pilots have got a bit uppity, this decision would have been made ages ago.
On a positive note, getting rid of an effectively loss-making section of the business will mean Jetstar group makes even more money, if the pilot group is forced to remain within 3% for their EBA it will be trebles all round in Collingwood.

B772 10th Feb 2020 08:15
