Desperation is the way I read it too - doesn't sound like negotiations are going well.
AJ will be all over him to get this pushed through. At the end of the day I'm not voting for a SO B scale.

I'm a pilot - but not for commercial purposes. I care more for crew, be that cabin or technical, and their health outcomes. As more the science comes to light - it is paramount that 'crew conditions' consider this more critically. That's my interest in this. And that is where a lot of energy needs to be focussed.

Fly the maggot? Seriously?! Lifestyle is good but it’s a piece of sh*te! Let’s hope they get 320s for round 2! You are right, I did find something to whinge about haha. I like the job though Back to sunrise- I cant see it happening with mexicanbeervirus hanging around, too risky investment for QF management regardless of what pilots will or won’t accept
For all the noise, it'll come down to Brisbane overall revenue and cost estimates, plus how comfortable they are that they could reconfigure the planes and redeploy for regular longhaul flying if oil prices or ULH skyrocket beyond what they expect.

SO B scale already exists. They won’t be doing another deal for SO’s. Existing 787 rates will apply. The idea being same money whatever A/C you are join on. If you want a pay rise get another Bar on your shoulder. Don’t rely on ADP to pay the mortgage

This deal falls short in two areas. Both pay and fatigue.
Most importantly for me is asking the question. Can I do this kind of flying sustainably without dying far too young? No one is keen to do the tours of duty that Project Sunrise will do. Maybe once but not 2-3-4 times a roster till your 65.
Secondly to fly something that Narendra Kumar has said in a webinar is an A380 replacement then the pay must also be adequate for a replacement type.
Qantas are pushing the growth line now but they won’t give any guarantees that it’s nothing but an A380 replacement.
Current deal has you working too hard with no acknowledgement of how difficult Sunrise will be on the body. And the pay isn’t good enough.
it’s a clear NO.

Agreed as above.
No no no, this is wrong, they specifically said it’s not an A380 replacement, because they just spent lots and lots of money upgrading the A380 interiors and that proves the A380 will be around for ages and ages, because Qantas would never ever spend lots of money upgrading a jet and then retire it straight away, so I definitely believe them, and Narendra just said an accidental mistake which he didn’t really mean.

yup
sure.
maybe they’ll engineer another mass RIN situation to make us all excited about promotion as a pay rise again

So you want more money to fly a bigger aeroplane but if it's replaced by a smaller one you want more money as well?

A smaller one that flys around a third to a half more in flight time!
A smaller one that the company wants you to fly more for less!
A smaller one that the company wants to pay you a one off to undercut future pilots.
Also reduced allowances.

Actually this is an attempt for AJ to rewrite the Long Haul EA.
His pitch at the New York Board meeting was one of reducing costs even pushing 457 visas.
He created a mechanism that bypasses the EA with the 787 introduction by planting specific clauses in the EA.
He now wants to build on that with the A350.
The CP confirmed this in his email that the future is in the A350 and B787.
Once the 744, 380 and eventually the 330 go so do the legacy conditions.
What price do you want to pay for that?

Not having a go, genuinely curious as to what they are and how they’d be used.
If it doesn't it won't be because of us

So the CP raves on about pay increases due to promotion...
How many Commands since 2015? 275. How many retirements? 210. Let's see, 65 divided by 5...13 a year. OH that's right, we haven't had a net increase in aircraft have we? When was the last time we ordered aircraft? 11 years ago? EBA 9 with the promise of 35 or possibly 50 new 787"s?? How many? Bueller?
As for your post Little Birdie: 15% increase? Over what rate? The A380, which the A350 is replacing?
As for attempts to dress up the B Scale for S/o's, that alone will be a No Vote for the vast majority, including me.
24 million reasons to vote no.
Apparently you efforts to set an Auckland A350 isn't going so well. Care to comment Nathan?

Sorry, I mistakenly thought you were implying there was some kind of scope in the EA for temporary visas to be used.
I’m Not sure your above mentioned clauses really subvert the EA if they are part of it though. And to be fair there were some offsets with the loss of night credits with the lower minimum/planning divisors and higher hourly rates (offsets that don’t look like they want being applied to the 350).
80% odd of us voted yes to that. Fair enough.
March is but a couple of weeks away now. We haven’t seen or heard anything of any substance on this issue. The best information so far seems to have come from an uncontrolled document from an anonymous source. Precious little out of AIPA either.
It certainly doesn’t look like happening at this point.
Does your 275 include the 50 who took VR in 2014/15?
