Jetstar Aus/NZ Positions
Depends on the base you want and your hours. Conservatively running at under 5 years for most bases with the exception of Brisbane and Gold Coast which is 8-10 years. Sydney probably closer to 2-3 years however, there is speculation of 320 DEC into Sydney as current drivers on the list don’t meet hour requirements.

You can most bases on joining or within 12 months these days.
Flying Depends what you like. I hate the flying in Sydney. Too many 4 sector days, too much Ballina, lot's of shorter sectors. I personally found as an FO there were a lot more "highly strung" captains in Sydney. Stressing about things they can't control, rushing to make Curfew etc. But if you are not a night owl, you'll be done by 11 every night etc which is a big plus for some people.
I much preferred the flying in Melbourne. Less 4 sectors (but when you get them they are big days... 10-12 hours duty) longer sectors, everyone is a bit more relaxed. But you can finish at 1am sometimes. I like that, many don't.
I'd much rather sign on at 3pm and do a MCY / OOL / BNE / TSV return etc... 2 sectors finish at midnight do it again the next day. X 4 and yours done for a few days. Minimal stress. You hardly get get that in Sydney. Sydney just always feels like a battle.
Sim support is an easy work day Off payment in Melbourne. Apart from the odd gusty northerly or a few low vis days, the weather in Melbourne is usually pretty straightforward.
ATC delays are much the same. Throw in cost of living plus the fact it's much easier to live in the country (if that's your thing) and Melbourne always seemed like a no brainer to me.

They've just updated the minimum requirements to 4000 TT and a minimum of 1500 hours on company aircraft as an FO. For a newly joined FO, it would probably take about 2 and a bit years to get 1500 hours on company aircraft if you do about 600 to 700 hours a year.

I did mine start of the year, was a great experience and very positive, you can tell they want you to succeed. All very lovely people. Prepare SAR format answers as its all behavioral. The sim assessor was very kind as well.

Yeah, had a very similar experience. I understand from reading other posts that the entry bar might be lowered because they aren't getting sufficient numbers, but it's best to prepare like the opposite it true. Makes a big difference to your own self-confidence during the assessment.
Thanks

My Airbus knowledge is lacking these days, but I think auto trim is always on unless you switch off prims/secs to get alt/direct law?
anyhow the aircraft is setup under normal conditions with raw data modes ie rose nav display on the ND and no FD or A/THR.
it’s basic vor intercepts and approach. The info they supply with pitch power and config is all you need, the sim instructor is fantastic and walks you through. I received an outcome the following week, there’s no hold file at the moment. I was given Syd/Mel choice, but all bases have slots and movement is quick after start date I believe.
