The last NJS Pilots I had beers with said something along the lines of “this is the most dysfunctional puppy patting industrially grubby bunch of muppets they’ve ever been involved with”.

My understanding is Jetstar is on similar par… but what Aussie Airline isn’t these days.

Do you one better. I got jammed in the back middle recently on a pax. Board, sit down. Pax comes up with a dupe seat. Ground staff board and 'solve' the issue by giving me one of the 4 vacant exit row seats.

So is there any truth in the rumour that JQ may be volunteering another guest to the Victorian Prison System in the near future?

Contrary to what the news article has said, there was drugs found and a positive DAMP test returned. Seems that Qantas PR has its claws in the media again.

I feel sorry for the poor guy, if pay and conditions were better the gentleman would have thought twice about what he could be losing.

Bulls@#$%t. Plenty of F/O's I fly with are buying houses and new cars. In the same way I don't have sympathy for the Captains who get the sack for changing the altitude knob with their feet. If you are that desperate for more money at Jetstar you chase days off or work at Bunnings. Trying to import drugs from Bali as a pilot has more to do with greed and quick riches than the base salary.

Drugs in his system, drugs on his phone, drugs shelved? yeah going for that quick riches champ. That's a dark and slippery path he has taken, feel grateful you don't know what its like.

I also feel sorry for the F/O's you fly with.

The pilot wasn't earning a Rex or Bonza FO wage. Widebody L3 FO wage isn't on the poverty line. But it might be an addition, not so much the money, who really knows. The Indo authorities don't overly care what the reason is, you are finished if caught, life now comes to an end.

They should consider themselves lucky if they only loses the job. Get caught on the other end, and life is now over. And if caught here, well ask the Malindo Cabin Crew currently in Barwon Prison how life is going.

The pilot regardless of their thoughts on income could have an addiction just bloody lucky they didn’t get pinched in Bali other wise there would be white overalls and a line up waiting.
Either way, the pilot in question knows right from wrong and deserves to lose their job and all other ramifications thrown their way!

He should know right from wrong, and dose deserves what's coming, there's no misinterpreting that!

We will never know the driving decision for him to do what he has done (apparently), but I do feel sorry for him, meth is absolutely evil when it get a hold of you.

None of the articles mention a positive drug test just a positive test in his luggage and some dodgy photos for which the AFP confirmed no criminal charges?

No need to feel sorry for my F/O's, they get treated as professional pilots and are valued for their contribution. I do however have zero sympathy for anyone, regardless of rank, who decides that the job is just a means to enable their addiction or personality failings.

Agreed. The sympathy should be directed at the remaining hard working, honest crew who may well get fxxked over on a regular basis at the end of a long duty as they may now deemed a potential risk and no longer receive professional courtesies from border force.

Vote 1: Death penalty

Some interesting characters in QF Group Pilot

Certainly more than one or two might have returned to Australia
after taking out Bank Loans overseas & getting on an Aeroplane & leaving

Declared bankrupt Overseas, but that's no big deal , just transfer to SH asap

Proper & detailed reference checks needed

Why don’t we burn them at the stake while chanting “Witch, Witch, Witch”.

One knows half the truth, and zero insight, yet are willing to cast stones from a distance. The fact is, we don’t know. And to cast such a large dispersion of folly and buffoonery does beggar belief.
