If you're actually 18 y/o, you might want to check into the age requirement for an FAA ATPL.
US regional pay is available on each carrier's hiring website page. Take home pay is variable owing to state income taxes; some have them and some don't.

Ak ok, thanks...so really it would be an hour-building exercise for people wanting Jet time, and then to move back out of the USA - rather than a partway onto a Major Airline within the USA?
Pity no Green Card! Personally I’d love to try aim at a multi-engine Fixed-Wing Fire Fighting Job, but I don’t suppose they issue E3 visas for FOs on such aircraft?
Still, Jet time in an Airline might be worth pursuing!

As for fire fighting gigs I doubt you meet the contract requirements. USFS contracts require time in type as PIC, ‘x’ amount of bombing time, time spent mountain flying etc. I used to fly fire fighting helicopters on USFS contracts prior to switching back to the fixed wing world. Private companies with fire contracts do employ Aussies on E3 visas however you have to be a walk up starter contract wise without requiring anything other than a DOI carding ride. Any of the US forestry, calfire type government gigs require citizenship for any federal job.
Do you have any AG time in an 802 air tractor? That’s a good start for getting into fixed wing fire world. The company here in the US that I flew B212 and B412’s for in fires had their 802 fixed wing pilots on $1000USD/day + per diem +$500/Flight hour flown on a 12 day on 2 day off roster.

Do you have any AG time in an 802 air tractor? That’s a good start for getting into fixed wing fire world. The company here in the US that I flew B212 and B412’s for in fires had their 802 fixed wing pilots on $1000USD/day + per diem +$500/Flight hour flown on a 12 day on 2 day off roster.
I’m here in the US on a green card (wife is American), so I do have a pathway to a major here.
I have 7,000 hours total time, several thousand hours turbine amphibious float time, including 500 hours on Twin Otters on floats (Maldives). I have an FAA ATP.
Without the 802 time, and only a few hours Ag, I can’t get a job on a Fireboss - though I do have ample float time for it...hence in terms of firebombing, probably only an FO on a multi-crew aircraft would be open to me (and probably not even that, unfortunately!)
My current long-term job might be coming to an end, hence I’m looking around for other opportunities.
90k is great as an FO...I’d be interested in pursuing that, just a pity it would not lead onto anything in the USA beyond that for me - given the Green Card situation.

Thanks for the info...I have just a few hours AG...no 802 time...Low Level experience via mustering in QLD, Mountain Time from bush flying in the Yukon, Canada.

I think that depends on the operator, and maybe even the country. A friend of mine in Canada got onto a Fireboss with no Ag rating, no time on type, no fire experience...But he had several thousand hours on floats. The company tried out several people scooping up water from a lake in a duel 802 Fireboss, and only the float dudes got hired as new chaps. For the CL-415 / 215 they also require float time. Anyhow, That’s all a bit off-topic I suppose!

From what I saw an a website, the Regionals only pay about $40 an hour for an FO, with 75 hours guaranteed. So that’s only $3,000 a month. Or is that $40 on top of a base pay? Thanks again.

I flew about 800 odd hours in my first year but created nearly double that in pay, plus per diem while away from base, Plus a $22k signing bonus.
Skywest is the best option for quick jet hours on an E3 visa and Piedmont is a better option for AA travel benefits and better pay and quicker upgrade, plus if you can eventually get yourself a green card (somehow) you’re in the queue already to flow through to mainline AA, thought Piedmont is severely backlogged in training and guys are taking 4-8 months to hit the line after starting.

Skywest has a contract with Alaska so you might find yourself flying e175’s for them under the banner of Alaska.

When was the last time you "exercised the privileges of" your FAA ATPL and in what operation...91, 135, 121 ? That could influence how quickly you'd upgrade should you take a run at a US regional.
And you have the new plastic credit card edition of it, right ? The paper version became invalid several years ago.
