It depends - from a comany point of view No. The only flying was a few day patterns and Singapore, Hong Kong and Jakarta which were returns. Most permanent crew were not even able to build their roster to 121 hours the average was something like 80-90 hours therefore making the base unproductive in the eyes of the company. Some crew liked the low hours others didnt, some crew were doing singapore day in day out.
Hoewever since carmen was introduced the base has become far more productive and the range of flying is excellent from a crew prespective enabling crew to build their hours and achieve additional days off through IPD's etc and the FWA system works better as there are more casuals available to do the flying that is released.
Traditionally Perth is a base that MAM are sent to and more recently the regionals who are generally all from the east coast thus the reason why a large percentage of the base is on the transfer list and this pattern will continue whilever the company continues to send MAM's and regionals from the east to the west. The only way to resolve the transfer issue out of Perth is to recruit locally I suppose.

this new intake of 20 casuals shall make interesting viewing as never before has the casual work force been so large and diverse with experience and talent....previous employment to full time from the external organisation mam has appeared to be on who had been there longest and most available to work for qf........if selection is now different than those who have been exposed over a long period of time to the organisations culture and vibe so to speak and, selection is based on talent in say interview, language skills etc. then one could ask the question of did qf interview any off the street applicants? did qf change the employment web site to cover a possible case of discrimination?( from off street applicants on new web site which says qf currently interviewing for full time which they are!) any ideas folks? cheers gigs

Sorry but this is untrue. Brisbane were among the first to be offered slots out of Perth. Also your mate being there for only 8 months? I have been in Perth for 18months and I am yet to get a call. Is your mate permanent? What permanents were only on Perth for 8 months?
Only the first 15 of the 30 have been contacted. And this doesn't even reach anywhere near half way down the existing list. Phone contact with the FAAA months ago said BNE transfers were not included in the 30. It would appear now that they have been included (congrats to them!). So is the FAAA lying or they just didn't have a clue? No sweat for me but I spoke to some people who were assured by the union they were in the top 30 (on the basis BNE was not included). These people are now a little nervous.
I think you'll find the list has been pretty much cleared except for those going to BNE and a few right at the bottom. My mate is being transferred out of PER and he quite close to the bottom of the list and was only on there for 8 or so months.

Allocations Reports A Large Movement
Bowel connotations aside... It would appear that either more than 30 have been offered transfers or that many have turned down the transfer. Although the list may not be cleared I am surprised that they got so far down the list as of today.
Either way it is some good news and definately there is some relieved people around. Happy flight attendants? Now there is a thought

Ditzy did it clear a lot of the ex jetstar crew who were waiting for the their transfer back to the east.
On another note how do the ex AO crew feel about your flying for September now that the pattern book is out? It looks like there is a good range of trips to choose from and this will only get better I hope for you guys. Not so good for the CSM's at present though.

My mate is permanent and put his name on the list about 8 months ago although he has been in the base for a couple of years. He called allocations, being the proactive little gem that he is, and was told he was in the 30. He got his official call the other day.
Nice to see the list has been pretty much cleared of those that wanted to go, I guess the inside running he got from whoever in whatever department was on the money.
Congrats to all who are on the move out of the west !

well
There are going to be lots of disappointed people around. Apparently in melbourne, one of them has already been telling people he got it. He is a complete suck, nasty piece of work. Prefer not to say names. Everyone dislikes him.
So 100 crew went sick here in Sydney a few Mondays ago...? Was this planned?

GH,
The flying for CNS base seems great. More than what we expected. It seems we are going everywhere with everyone ( cross crewing ).
Still some confusion with the bidding system but it looks like SEP will be a fun month.
Cant wait to get on the 737 and A330 and fly somewhere new !
See you online.

info to hand would suggest that the "what name shall i change my first name to" manager had a say in who got per that was based in per.......this appears to be part of the qf merit based selection process?????????? and congrats to any per f/as going to qf full time but, i would not want that manager making any big ideas to do with my life, one wonders why qf employed her?

Maybe rumor of 18 not true, however, no official list released. Gigglem I think baby it is not just the base manager who influenced but more who had a relationship with qf, either partnet of csm, someone in qcc or chief pilot. Not saying in spite however, those who have been around for 5 years didn't seem to get the job, so must ask the question, why those. Talent and commitment to brand have been over looked. I thought it was an EEO. Won't be hard to prove it ain't. Perhaps there will be a shake up in HR in coming months??

Not to mention the ballsup with application process, seems someone will be offered VR.
