Price Check ??????-Maxwell House Coffee
As has been stated here before, these Clowns we have masquerading as Managers(dribble) are best placed working at Franklins-packing shelves OR "working" on the checkout.
They have NO F----'N IDEA what it is we do and show NO CARE -to boot.
They just wander around looking oh so forlorn.
Go ask them a question and you watch them scarper...........straight to the Red Roo for another Latte
We keep reading about Dixon's plans for a massive restructure this week..
My advice Geoffrey is to:
Call a "meeting" on QCC/1 and have a bus down stairs waiting to take them all off to Centrelink!!!!

The First 30 Days and the Next 365
Well some of the "chosen"ones are back behind the boss desk.
Out online they have done two trips and it has become evident that they are not made of the "right stuff".
The CSM motto:when in danger or in doubt run in circles...scream and shout!
In the next eighteen months Qantas will require between 60 and 70 CSMs and a similar number of CSS.
The last process was a debacle...rejections,withdrawals and failures.
Perhaps QF should lcose the LHR base bring all the onboard mangers back to Sydney and give a shot at the title here.
They have experience ...they have already made mistakes and hopefully have learnt by them.
There has been no people development in Oz.
The CSS recently promoted will be up for the big gig next year
Interesting times are approaching
Qantas has never managed rapid growth well.

Growth
There is real possibility that QF will see the delivery of some 777 late next year or early 2009.
For every A380 that arrives there is a requirement for 100 crew.
Four aircraft will require 400 hundred crew

Is it guaranteed that QF long haul cabin crew will fly the 380 for sure? Also heard the other day the 777 rumour is dead and buried now. Would like to be proved wrong.
Where do we stand when it comes to new types and crewing them?

An empty threat used by fascist thugs as industrial leverage.
Who else are they going to give it to???????

The A380..The Crew?
The AKL base.
On the other side of the trench they are recruiting madly.
Word is that the base will double in size over the next 12 months.
Guess Why?

I hear you.
But don't forget that the trough feeders have gargantuan egos riding on the smoooooooth implementation of this groundbreaking, revolutionary aircraft.
The creme de la creme, the elite and all that nonsense.
Passenger satisfaction levels according to ANOP surveys have been on the slide for some time and are backed up recently by the skytrax awards.
Have you flown with them?
They can be smothered in Y/C but running LARGE P/C and J/C cabins effectively?
Come on
--------------
Interesting that the brand new Kiwi crew have been assured by their management that CSM and CSS promotion will occur at the end of the year for them which is a COMPLETE contradiction to what is being sprouted by those training the recent upgrades in Australia.
Australian based CSMs and CSSs have been told that promotion won't be occurring in the land of the long white cloud...........
Oh well, I suppose it might prevent a few from resigning and heading for Air NZ.

I have asked AKL crew if this was true and they have told me the opposite to what you have just posted. This could be nothing more than a gee up or maybe your post is too.
Only time will tell but the main problem with all of this is that we know you cannot trust the company. After bitter experience I know they will tell us anything if they think it is what we want to hear.
Before the ink is dry on any document we sign they will do what they want.
If we accept any new bid system we have to be sure that it has safety clauses involved in black and white. We should get someone to test the system or talk with other airlines crew who use this system.
We all know that the company will use any scare tactic to bluff us into submission.
The main point is that the junior crew have more to fear than the senior crew from any new work system. This is because they will be around longer than the senior crew.

as i said before
the jeppeson system in its originality is a senority based system. however, it can accomandate any variation to any agreements (that may be EBA's or that nasty word AWA's.) it will be used for the entire tech & cabin crew (short & longhaul) community in QF. the important part is what parimeters go in the system will make or brake your roster. does anyone know does it let crew instantly swap online trips?

My understanding is that instant trip swaps are an option available in the jepperson system negating the need for the open time system we currently have and the rorting and favouratism that goes along with it.
Online instant trip swaps [which affords the kind of flexibility that negates the need to rort sick leave] have been a function available to some [all?] US major carrier's crews for around 20 years.

Not that pilots have ever spelt anything incorrectly either.
Then again if you are looking at JEPPESEN maps a dozen times a day even a pilot should get the spelling right.
