gigs

The notice was issued by the company (AW) and stated the company was in discussions with the FAAA in regard to career progression for MAM casuals which was an EBA clause under EBA 7 as well as base transfers for permanent crew. It was dated 27 April and stated an announcement would be made in 2 weeks. I hope this helps

interesting point that progression in a job would be in place in an eba for a external organisation?

When I read the notice, I assumed it meant that they were going to offer CSM positions to MAM FA's.

Has there been any internal memo explaining the cosy relationship since the article in the paper?

so any faaa reps around?

should qf have one union? and let the other union deal with rest? with three different types of fa's surely action needs to be taken now?

Any mammies out there confirm the strike in June?

I thought the company were putting in place something by way of casual csm's? Isn't that why the eba7 challenge didn't float?

Or are we doing to gang up on giggle because she can't tickle, because it is easier than dealing with the real issues?????

mate if mams are in a cosy bed with s/h then the chances of one union would be worse than trying to win lotto or getting an answer from twix

regional guy...

One union is an ideal and is like the concept of perpetual motion. It's great in theory but in reality it will never work.

The main problem is ideology mixed with history and a few other ingredients thrown in to flavour the whole recipe.

You will have to understand the cosy relationship the S/H union has to know.

Sadly it would seem your right lowerlobe

I wish they'd get their acts together.

God forbid the unions practice what they preach.

regionalguy.........Yes it is very sad and even worse is the fact that the only winners are Darth and the people involved with sourcing cheap crew for him.

Ok. It is cosy with the S/H union, so when they merge the ones in bed have nothing to do with QF? Own division within the 'union'?

Or do the casuals get their own union??
Divid it up some more?

I enjoy my job and don't want conditions to get any worse, but as someone has pointed out the race to the bottom has begun.

How many benefit from FWA and part time - greater flexability??
There are 800 of us who have no say.
A minority reap the rewards whilst the majority suffer and see their jobs get worse, vr, no bands or whatever perks that are left??

And where has the spin team gone? Now it is not front page they think it is safe to carry on as they were?
Neither side wants to offer an opinion?

How many Australian based cabin crew are there?
Can anyone split it up, l/h, s/h , mam???

what is the percentage of union membership?

maybe start up a whole new association and make both divisions of faaa redundant??

No news of the cc website from AW regarding mam, me thinks it was just to shut us up whilst there was media coverage?

How many crew are OS?
AKL?
BKK?
JPN?
LHR?
Any other countries? is there still a Taiwan crew member?

It would be logical to assume that if both international and domestic wings of the FAAA amalgamate then that cosy relationship will filter into L/H.By that I mean that I think it is ineviteable that we will see MAM's in L/H.

casualvermin, the race to the bottom as you put it started a long time ago and it's momentum is such that I doubt it can be stopped. The parties involved seem to have no problem attracting applicants for either MAM or Jetstar/Jetstar international and that puts a downward pressure on pay and conditions of existing crew.

If you think contract 'C' MAM's are the end just wait a year or two!!!!
