Food for thought:

Song can be found on The Seager Sessions Bruce Springsteen Album.
"WE SHALL OVERCOME"
We shall overcome,
We shall overcome,
We shall overcome, some day.
Oh, deep in my heart,
I do believe
We shall overcome, some day.
We’ll walk hand in hand,
We’ll walk hand in hand,
We’ll walk hand in hand, some day.
Oh, deep in my heart,
We shall live in peace,
We shall live in peace,
We shall live in peace, some day.
Oh, deep in my heart,
We shall all be free,
We shall all be free,
We shall all be free, some day.
Oh, deep in my heart,
We are not afraid,
We are not afraid,
We are not afraid, TODAY
Oh, deep in my heart,
We shall overcome,
We shall overcome,
We shall overcome, some day.
Oh, deep in my heart,
I do believe
We shall overcome, some day.

Well put Ock1f.

Just heard the HR director on Newstalk and he still thinks we're looking for money

Now they are going to the Labour Court next Monday...

Why do we have management?

Think of the money we'd save if we fired them and just used the LRC and Labour Court. In fact without them we'd probably never need to go near the place!

Our management are the best ever. Superhuman in fact. I just heard our HR manager on RTE radio on the News at One being absolutely slaughtered live on air. Picked the wrong guy in Sean O Rourke to take on.!

Their flawed thinking was publicly exposed for all to see .

Will post a link later when RTE have it up.

In the meantime here is one from yesterday -an interview with Michael Landers of Impact. http://www.rte.ie/news/2008/0219/new...339192,242,209

Yours as ever

Otherwise, if you have facts to share with us, cite your sources.
As one of Europes busiest airports (No.10 I believe), it means that Dublin appears high on the list, but it is rarely because of 'Dublin' restrictions.
In 2007, Dublin was the 21st busiest departure airport in Europe.

Dublin would have to increase it's traffic by 35% or more just to get into the bottom of the top 10.

Source - Eurocontrol.

Regards,

DFC

Just out of curiosity DFC, what exactly is your area of expertise? I know I probably won't get an answer from you for this but are you a controller, a commercial pilot or neither

Angel Whineair

Following from the Ryanair website.

"
Editors Note:

In the interests of accuracy, Ryanair is releasing the letter received today from the IAA, explaining the background to this strike together with the IMPACT strike notice. These confirm that IMPACT has been telling lies when they claim that this dispute is about manning levels when in fact it is about naked greed of a bunch of overpaid under-worked public servants."

Should make for very interesting reading from one spoof merchant to the other.

Amazing i see the word ACCURACY mentioned in the addendum considering all the figures etc in the statement above the note from the Editor are not i find this laughable.

There it is lads!!
I like the last paragraph most.
“Ryanair, Ireland’s largest airline and our passengers fully support the IAA’s rejection of these unjustified and excessive demands from an out of control public sector Union”.
Who's in bed with who? I wonder

Grrr Heads or Harps

Maybe we should hire Sarkozy's defence team and extract another €60k for libel after the blue flu comment.

Whats with yer man from Whineair being on every media broadcast about us. He's just been on Todayfm Matt Cooper's show spouting cr@p mudding the waters again.

Like Matt said to him whats this got to do with him. We couldn't be any cheaper for them than we are. May be he should tackle other high charging ANSP's first.

They will stick there nose's in anywhere just to get some attention and Media.

From Ryanair website...

"Irish Air Traffic Controllers who currently earn over €140,000 p.a."

If this is the case i am missing over €70,000 from last year

I wonder when i'll get this money i am supposed to have earned?

I've never heard so much rubbish in all my life.

Then there's the rubbish from the ITAA(Irish Travel Agents Assoc) on Six one news. His two points how can this go after one days talks straight to Strike-eh there has been 4/5 weeks of talks now. Then he says its appalling that they can go on strike with less than a weeks notice eh todays Wednesday and its not till tomorrow week that in my book is 7 days notice plus we actually told them something would happen over a week ago so thats how we get to the legal 14 days notice.

Email Ryanair

Try this email [email protected]

or even [email protected]

It may be wrong but I tried it earlier and it didn't bounce back

I know they're using every oportunity to get free publicity but emailing them is a somewhat productive way to vent our anger. And let them know they're barking up the wrong tree.

Remember don't let them get us down. Let us get what they think we should have

'- over €140,000 p.a'
'- a reduction in their already low hours (34.7 per week)'
'- a 15% pay increase just to volunteer for overtime'
'– an overtime rate of €1,200 per day (€150 per hour)'

And...

'Ryanair today (20th Feb) welcomed the 24 hour strike notice served by Irish Air Traffic Controllers for Thursday 28th Feb.'

See, they're on our side!

Re: Harpies

Have to say I agree with LK 100% that under no circumstances should we debate the Harpies (or with them) and let them turn this into a Free Advertising Campaign.

However once this is over it's is a different matter. Don't get mad, get even
