c2c, 1 got asked to leave a few years ago for reasons outside of work and the other didn't get his contract renewed so just the 2 and yes they are recuiting as much as possible so dont know the reason for the non renewal. only people who would know are those involved. for the rest of us its just another "middle east moment" that cant be explained but should be rememberd for future reference.

DD as they say if you cant take a joke, dont join!

now can we get back to the ferret sorry ferris bashing??????

ferris summer was great thanks. drank some beer, ate great food went to gym/beach...oh yeh and i was employed. so not sure waht you are implying there???
roster 6 on 4 off with no short changes suits me fine, better then oz.

this gumption of which you speak, is it the same gumption endowed upon you when ASA refused point blank to employ you as an atc and also refused to give you fulltime employment in the training annex? sounds more like backed into corner so better find something to support wife/kids and make it sound like your own idea.

and no answer to the questions?? have not changed there either.

how does it go?
-if they agree with you = legend.
-if they disagree = management stooge, slanderous etc etc.
-if they ask questions that you dont like = ignore question and insult or imply character faults, threaten them with being served for slander.
-if they like middle east = spineless serco loving morons who have no other choices but to stay here.

i think that pretty much covers 98% of your posts.

ps did you hear that the banks here are now selling their debts to collection agencies from defaulters country of origin?

C2C Take a chill pill

C2C calm down...every body in these parts knows every one else. It is called friendlyish banter...if you can't take it, perhaps you are one of the new sensitive new age controllers? What you from Melbourne?

In point of fact there was a "gentleman" who did a runner out of Muscat back in 98/99. Can't remember if he was given the 24 hours to leave, but he certainly bolted, came back and was basically escorted to the door of the aircraft.

The guy that you refer to as being given the flick in Muscat has a back up plan...rumour has it that it starts on Dec 5th (a day that will almost live in infamy) in a place that many inhabiting this board work or worked.

Much as it grieves me, I must agree with WO B...especially the bit about not toeing the ferris line, that chap has some serious issues about back chat. Wouldn't have liked to have been under his supervision in Jika Jika.

Never met the fe++ poorly spelled, but have felt the lash of his warm and caring style in the past.

Found this reference:

Short Man's syndrome (thanks to Urban Dictionary)

An angry male of below average height who feels it necessary to act out in an attempt to gain respect and recognition from others and compensate for his abnormally short stature. Also synonomous to little man syndrome.

You all play nicely now, remember most of us can prune at work, some that wash dishes have to wait for the desk at the internet cafe.

Perhaps the washer of glasses knows where foxy's cup is?

Well, the mug question is easy.

We're holding it hostage until foxy returns to Muscat.

Why would you want to live in a vast parking lot anyway??!!

Now now Duck, don't you go being economical with the truth- you neglected to mention the photo of Notso accompanying that dictionary reference. It's especially funny to those who work across the corridor from him when he slings the term at others, because it's one of his nick's.

As to my ppruning- I only try and counter some of the blatant advertising and one-sided BS that appears here from time to time. Sure, I pprune hard. I don't start negative threads- just balance. Take this thread for example. Is that really a fair statement (that the only recent sacking has been in Muscat and it's 'safer' in AD) to feed prospectives? It's utter BS.

Now, Mr. Bentley.
Sad, really, yet insightful, that you casually refer to a colleague losing his job as "for the rest of us its just another "middle east moment"". Shrug your shoulders and forget about it all, if it helps you sleep.
Too bad if you don't like my posting style, but it might help if you did more than attack the man, hypocrite. You do realise that exactly 25% of your posts are about me?
One of the reasons I post so emphatically is displayed in your post
sounds more like backed into corner so better find something to support wife/kids and make it sound like your own idea.
You either don't know the facts, or are deliberately misrepresenting them. If I was employed by AsA, as you say, why would I need to "find something to support wife/kids"? As it happens, I chose to leave AsA to persue other opportunities. I realise that you, like too many others I have met, have no concept of a life without ATC, or even someone to employ them (and is a major reason the crappy EBAs keep getting up in oz). That is no reason to publicly display your schadenfreud- most unseemly. You never know when you are going to have a "middle east moment", do you? When that time comes that you do leave, and it will come, I'll give you some advice; check the law regarding civil (and criminal) cases across international boundaries. It might save you the time posting crap about banks.

Fox knows full well his mug is having a rest in Malaysia. It left before me.

who needs mugs when plastic cups will do? stop whining foxy, take another plastic cup.
Speaking of things missing where's ferris, must be his day off? Mind you, now that he has no one doing his roster he hasn't the time off anyway. I must agree with WOB, right on the button.

Hey ferris
Nothing wrong with your posting style, only problem is no one agrees with you! The soap box broke a long time ago, you have left ATC (or should I say sacked) on your own terms or not....nobody is actually sure anymore. Isn't there a bartenders chat forum you can join? Just think no one there will know you and you can try and bullsh!t them as well. How long will you be there before you CHOOSE to leave?

To all the guys from Oz and NZ looking to come here. You have the package details. You can decide for yourself whether it is in your interests financially to come here.

As far as sackings etc. for the most part if you can keepem apart, and you realise you have to watch your asse (cos noone else is), you will be fine.

Bit of advice though. Come here to separate traffic, full stop. Don't bother doing extra duties and going the extra mile. All you will end up with is a kick in the guts and a bad taste in your mouth. Plug in, plug out, and count your money over a cold beer.

Hope you all enjoy the experience, because despite a lot of the negative stuff on here, if you follow my advice above, there is a lot to enjoy. It really is good fun here, cheers.

Burj, I wouldn't say I am optimistic, I am far from it at the moment. I am a realist. For the Aussies and the Kiwis, they can stay where they are and continue making there good salary and paying a huge chunk of it to the government in income tax, capital gains tax, GST, stamp duty, state sales tax, etc etc etc etc. OR... they can take the bit between the teeth and come somewhere where they can have a great time, work some really busy traffic (and I mean really work the traffic rather than be part of a sausage factory), and if they are smart make some really good money.

If you read my full post, you would see I am far from inspired at the moment, but I can see the big picture, and after weighing up the positives and the negatives I find it is best for me to stay. And that is exactly what every person thinking of coming here or already here has to do on a regular basis. When the negatives become too great then get out before you become bitter and twisted, like what has happened to some on these forums.

HE wears a pin striped blue shirt , navy pants and a very kind smiling face.

Ok Burj, lots of pretty pictures and you really do fancy yourself as a comedian, but all that doesn't really help the guys looking to come out to the sand pit from Oz and NZ. Maybe rather than being a clown, you could outline all the negatives of working in the Middle east, which they can then balance up with some of the positives I have pointed out, and then they can make the decision for themselves. That is called constructive.

And I think you'll find you chose the wrong wiggle. I have always been told I look more like this one, but thanks for trying.

ferret sorry ferris keep getting the 2 mixed up

if you are going to quote use the whole reference. we can all use snippets to suit ourselves.

25%. i amaze even myself that i have spent so much time on you but when i see that its only 2 posts(now 3) it puts it all into perspective.....

You either don't know the facts, or are deliberately misrepresenting them.
yes i do know the whole facts and no i am not misrepresenting them.

I realise that you, like too many others I have met, have no concept of a life without ATC, or even someone to employ them
have spent more time employed in jobs other then atc then in so there goes another of your theories up in smoke.

check the law regarding civil (and criminal) cases across international boundaries
i did before posting about the banks and will be more then happy to give you then numbers of 2 aussies that it has happened to in the last year. just pm me.

and still no answer to the questions...........

Does Hitler(RJ) still run the show in Abu dhabi with his two side kicks Dumb(notso) and Dumber(JvH)?Well I am sure glad I got out of there when I did!!!

That piece of airspace with tehran to the noth east is an accident waiting to happen. To say .... "you had that incident with Iran, the different QNH, etc, which you decided to run from"....Is an understatment. Two sectors bordering on each other that have different Transition Lvl's with crappy radio and radar coverage.

Ferris incident wasnt the first to happen(he was maybe the first to open his mouth about the crappy procedures there!!!! ) there and I think there will be alot more happening there with the crazy increase in traffic numbers in the ME!

Why does everyone in Abu Dhabi talk about greener pastures??

WoB wrote....roster 6 on 4 off with no short changes suits me fine, better then oz.

I always though it was 6 on sleep day and 3days off,has that changed??Cause if it hasn't don't try tell me that your sleep day is a day off.You work 2night shifts in a row which is the tought shift alot of AC very little break's u need the sleep day and 1or2 days off just to recover!!

Peace
