The numbers required are anything between 20-50, depending on who you talk to. We certainly need them for leave, resectorisation and development training.

Pay 3000 RO per month (approx AUD 10,000 per month tax free)

Visa issued to you if they select you.

Area rated only.

Conditions, etc from [email protected]

Good luck; it's a great place to work.

YES...Oman need controllers !!!!....well, that is the official word and they have just recruited 4 with another 4 ( rumoured ) to be on the way. However, they have also just sacked one, OFFICIALLY....contract not to be renewed....reason, none given ( they can do that !!! ) !!!!!...rumour is he wrote a report poo-pooing a procedure but someones nose was out of joint over it and has managed to use connections to effect the "non-renewal ". ....STILL, it is only a rumour !!!!.....GOOD LUCK !!!!...methinks safer in Abu Dhabi !!!!!....just !!!

The salary sounds good but it would attract more people with three return airfares to country-of-origin and an apartment included... if it's true that these are not in the contract...

Yes, very funny!! How many sacked in Oman in, say, the last 2 years, versus the number sacked in A.D.?

ps- saw a good puppet show today. Reminded me a lot of A.D.

Here we go with the sour grapes thing again.
Seriously, is that the best, most well thought-out response you can come up with?
They are simple questions:
How many controllers have been sacked from employment in the last 2 years in AD?
How many have been sacked from Oman?

Why not let the readers decide? I realise it's a bit unpalatable for these topics to be raised, but people considering taking the plunge need to understand the situation.

Now, you can't have it both ways- either people were sacked, or they weren't i.e. they 'chose' to leave. Squeezing them until they 'choose' to leave by being sacked- there's a great way to man-manage!!

Go to the ME forum and watch the pilots responses change from when they first arrive to after a few years.

Mr Pete- you can wonder all you like about why I left atc, but if the 'greener pasture' part of your statement is lost on you, then so be it.

More like you want it both ways, seriously "squeezing them out until they chose to leave by being sacked"??? You are either sacked or you take the option to leave, it can't be both.

Good idea, let the readers decide.

Which is it Pete, are you stupid, or are you a liar?
Let's get vercingetorix on here to verify the numbers- the stupid little git would only be too happy to crow about his ( ) handiwork.
Let's see...
me,
the yank,
half a dozen or so Malaysians (or don't they count?)
the dawg,
B McG- you do know the puppet-dwarf sacked him in a typically cowardly low-act, don't you?
There's probably more, but how's that for starters?

You are either sacked or you take the option to leave, it can't be both.
For someone allegedly there, your understanding is somewhat limited.
Anyone care to say who it was that the upstanding doyen of honesty and truth, Charley I'm-alright-Jack-quick-hide-I-might-have-to-do-some-work, let go?

Now now boys but thanks for the info. How many are leaving Oz for Oman? There are plenty from NZ and still more to follow I hear.

Silly Idea to try and change the world over there. Just 'pay me' and shut up is the best policy. Don't 'pay me', just leave. It doesn't get any simpler than that!

I dont usually get involved in these debates but here goes......

Who got sacked from abu dhabi?

Not you Ferris... you left in a hurry with a lot of bank debts when you had that incident with Iran, the different QNH, etc, which you decided to run from. You could still be working here if you acknowledged that you erred by not factoring in the different QNH when handing over traffic to Tehran.

The Yank....he was fired. He struggled through his training and 15 mins after he checked out he had a another incident. Time to go.

The malaysians all failed to perform when ojti came around. Too many incidents during training, ask any of the instructors. They just could not handle the complexities of this air space. Were they sacked or did they fail in the trial period?

Not sure who the dog is. I'm guessing its a canadian who is now in Bahrain. Well, he got pissed off losing his 2000 dirhams call out fee when he had to reschedule his annual competency check. He chose to fail his competency check on purpose and therefore left of his own accord.

As for B McG. I know that he had a career break from his home country. He had to make the decision to completely cut his ties from there and set up in abu dhabi long term or not. He chose to return to his home country where he had job security, great conditions of work, etc. Therefore he left of his own accord.

I dont have any info for Muscat ACC....

Even a TOWER CONTROLLER, Abu, knows there have been sackings (hey, Pete, there are even some clues in his post about how one can 'choose to be sacked'- ask a native english speaker to explain it ). So, hopefully, that will help some people make decisions, knowing not only how tenuous your employment is, but the lengths they will go to to deny and distance themsleves. 0 sackings?
Alas, Abu, you should know better than to believe everything you hear! Ask BMc to explain the circumstances of his sacking- an excellent insight into the character of the puppet-dwarf!
At least find out who the dawg is, if you are going to pretend to speak with authority. Ask anyone who actually works at the centre. Preferably, do it before you post next time- it'll help your credibility.
the different QNH, etc, which you decided to run from. You could still be working here if you acknowledged that you erred
Yeah, right. I was sacked- would you like me to fax you a copy of Clive's termination notice? According to Pete, you are either sacked or you choose to leave. Aaaahhhh, so much grey- a bit like QNH procedures, really
If only it was all black and white (just like home, hey abu), it would make 'getting involved in the these debates' so much easier!

Gee, that was quick! 2 minutes!
Does it really eat you that bad that others have the gumption to get off their arses (touchy area for you, I know, but apt)? Summer was rough for you, eh? I'll have a beer for you. (might even wash the glass, too.)
If I want a laugh, I just think....

Notso and his gimp don't make my roster.

Still no word on who got chopped?

Way to go guys, ive read some pretty petty arguements on my time working with the internet, but this about tops it.

Enough to put any potential ATCO off the job if some of you are the type of people id be working with.
