with all the bumps and dips on the runway, will it not get to a point where it will need to be re-built completely to make it servicable?

Juston a side note, J2 hols are still adverstising Costa Almeria from blk , with ever changing prices, been on there now since before easter, surely you would think someone would realise they dnt fly from blk to Almeria. Just reading on coventry website rumour of cvt trying for jet2, does anyone thing they might up sticks from blk and move to coventry should tom pull out of there, seeing as things arent going so well with the routes. Aena website showing the majorca flights as non existant now:confused:

take-off 16th June 2007 19:11

anyone know why alicante was delayed for around 4 hours?

MUFC_fan 19th June 2007 16:50

Have got the passenger numbers for the domestic travel in the month of May.

BLK-IOM 2228 82%
BLK-STN 9626 47%
BLK-BFS 5191 33%

BHD and JER numbers have still to be added by the CAA along with the international passenger numbers. Quite pathetic really if they cannot collect the data within 15 days of the end of that month.

IOMspotter 20th June 2007 16:16

stats

MUFC, are the % figs the capacity utilisation figsures? If so BFS was horrible.

MUFC_fan 20th June 2007 16:21

Yep, they are the load factors for the month of May. They are even worse than last months. Also, the route has only grown by 1000 passengers since the introduction of a twice daily from a daily. No wonder the airline dropped to daily!

JXT now operate the morning route, but most passengers seem to want to go to LPL or MAN instead of paying the more expensive fares of JXT from BLK.

MUFC_fan 21st June 2007 21:39

LS have released the winter schedule to ALC from BLK as follows:

29 October 2007 - 03 February 2008, inclusive:
Tue 06:00-09:45, 10:45-12:30
Sat 08:55-12:40, 13:15-15:00

04 February 2008 - 23 March 2008, inclusive:
Tue Same
Thurs, Sat and Sun same as saturday.

Not too bad!

take-off 22nd June 2007 05:55

let hope then , that theres more to come, as november and december is going to be very quiet 3 or 4 flights a week that equals to, so far up till xmas, surely malaga will be back from winter, as thats a popular destination all year round. Hopefully the airport is pushing itself to new operators out there, and not relying on just jet2

silverhawk 22nd June 2007 06:44

Oh no! That means a 0330 alarm through the Winter.

take-off 22nd June 2007 11:41

well seeing as todays alicante is showing 1300:ugh::ugh::ugh: Maybe silverhawk wont need early alarm....lol
Whats todays excuse, was almost thinking of booking a weekend alicante flight, but thnking of trying elsewhere....

Aena website showing todays flight been canceled:uhoh:, certainly going to be some unhappy people:mad:

MUFC_fan 22nd June 2007 20:40

What ever happened to the based FLT MD-83 for LS, has this now gone? Very short lived if it has!!

Regards

s_insania 30th June 2007 18:10

Its a mistake, they've put Blackpool instead of Glasgow , Glasgow is shut because of the car ramming into the terminal building earlier today

Robert William 30th June 2007 18:14

They are listing BLK as an affected airport along with EDI and NCL due to the GLA incident.

Blackpool Bugle 30th June 2007 20:54

Just got told about this site ....wow ! Never new it existed before. As a Blackpool lad I am sorry to see Ryanir go and now the Jetstream lot. However, there must be reasons for both but where do the answers lie ?

Ryainr probably got a better paying route for the airplane and the Jetstream Boys who knows. But WHO will be next? Jet2 playin around with all the planes an still some winter stuff not released.

I feel Blackpool still have more bad news to come but lets hope not.

rufus.t.firefly 30th June 2007 21:08

Blackpool was operating a couple of hours ago , although armed police presence has been increased - no problem with that at anytime ! Believe cars are being checked on entry and some public access restrictions

Thats what a local airport worker told me a couple of hours ago unless things have escalated

:)

Pool avaiation

Was just wondered where exactly the new pool aviation terminal is being built? Shame Pool/Blk hadn't joint built a new terminal between them, would have thought, that would have made a lot of sense to the airport, made the airport more attractive to other airlines... just a thort :}

SHame about Jetstream express as well, blk having it a bit rough at moment, on a side note anyone know when the malaga winter flights are coming out?

Ernest Lanc's 2nd July 2007 11:59

""Never new it existed before. As a Blackpool lad I am sorry to see Ryanir go and now the Jetstream lot.""

Jetstream has gone (and no wonder) - there was very little promotion of the three routes.

As for Ryanair - according to Blackpool Airport, they have not pulled the plug on the Barcalona and Dublin routes.

So really little seems to have changed.

take-off 5th July 2007 06:55

Blk-agp

Have seen on j2 website, malaga finally on sale for winter, was thinking great, no need to trek to man in november.... but no such luck no flights between end of oct till feb!!!!!!:ugh::ugh::ugh: No Xmas flights ......:uhoh: had relatvies coming up from midlands so we all went together but seem ill be treking to brum!!!:mad:
Going to be a very quiet winter at this rate, hopefully as said in local rag , the airport is actively looking for other operators, not much coming from jet 2
Seeing as ryanair fly to malaga these days, would it be a good opportunity for them?:}

Blackpool Bugle 8th July 2007 21:08

Other Operators Sought at Blackpool

Met a couple of guys recently that used to work in ops at MyTravel. They was telling me that the jet2 agreement with the manigement at Blackpool is for a period of 15 years that they signed from when they started at Blackpool so jet2 aint going nowhere without a lot of penalty charges you would think ? What I dont get is why they are not looking to develop Blackpool as a base as it is a dam better option to get through the terminal there than at manchester or Liverpool.

Come on Blackpool management what are you doing to get jet2 moving ? Can't see nobody else wantin to setup base there though.

take-off 24th July 2007 09:04

Nething happening down in blk, threads gone quiet....
