Shed

Bring back the shed I say. :). Shes :mad: ugly but very cheap and would be an ideel lowcost aircraft into LTN or STN and you'd only have to sell 36 seats.:D No pretty but better than the train:{

IOMspotter 8th June 2007 20:12

not for me

Don't think so fred. How about that DC3 you had down there this week? Now that's a real vintage airplane.

Alicante

Has/was todays alicante flight been cancelled, as just been on aena website as it showing cancelled, although seen a 757 landing at around 10am so just wondering if it running late?

MUFC_fan 9th June 2007 10:56

Looks like the MD80 that was surposed to operate the route shredded it's tire, and so the flight was cancelled.

Does anybody know if Newmarket holidays will be re-instating the yearly 'Captivating Prague' xmas trip from BLK now that LS have given up on the route? It was just that I was wanting to book it!

take-off 9th June 2007 11:03

Anyone know why the 757 was in this morning ?

MUFC_fan 9th June 2007 11:15

Sorry, just looked at the BLK flights for the past week and the MD80 DID operate yesterday, to PMI, but nothing else.

G-CELZ operated the AGP and BFS rotations, while G-ZAPM visited ALC and FAO.

Don't know why the 752 is in today though! Maybe they are increasing capacity at BLK for the summer!;) Very unlikely, but which a/c has it swapped with, Flightline, Jet2 or Titan? God, anybody just passing through the airport would be astounded at all the operators at BLK at once - FR, LS, M2, JXT, Flightline and Titan!:D

MUFC_fan 9th June 2007 13:07

Well, I believe that the FAO, AGP and ALC could do with added capacity at the weekends as the loads last month were averaging around 70%, which is before the major summer season really starts.

BFS seems to need to pick up now that it is back to daily from twice daily. Personally, I think that MJV would not fill a 235 seater a/c every time, but I do believe that PMI would benefit from this during the major months of July and August.

Just my thoughts. Anybody else?

P.S. I also think that FR should get some larger a/c, looking at the GRO and DUB loads, they could benefit 235 seats per flight!;)

MUFC_fan 9th June 2007 18:05

Does anybody think that BLK will get a ski route this winter? I know that they havnt been having the best of look LS, but a weekly GVA route would be quite good!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

OK...What has happened over the past two days.

Yesterday G-LSAC visited the airport from NCL, operating both the NCL and BLK services to MJV. Today was the same, with G-LSAA visiting instead.

G-ZAPW has now left the airport at 23:35 yesterday evening after G-CELS arrived earlier in the evening.

According to AENA, MD-80 is to operate the MJV tomorrow morning, while G-CELS and G-CELZ will fly the FAO and PMI flights in the morning. The MD-80 WOULD have operated the AMS and PRG flights, but that is not to be. The PMI a/c will then operate the BFS route and the FAO a/c will fly to the Costa Del Sol at AGP.

This is what is PLANNED. What actually happens is a different matter, afterall, this is LS!;)

MUFC FAN

Ryanair operate a standardised commonality fleet, which is based on the B737-800 just like Southwest in the states except they use B737-700/300

Just because they fill some flights, they will not get any bigger aircraft, it is just too much hassle.

MUFC_fan 10th June 2007 10:03

I wasn't meaning that FR should purchase new a/c, I was just simply meaning that they could do with larger a/c on the busier routes. I know that they only have one common fleet type for one simple reason - saving money.

They could look at the 739ER, which has a 752 capacity, but has a common fleet rating with the 738. Not something for the near future though.

Nothing new for winter then from jet2? Anyone think prague or amsterdam mite return for the winter, or what winter flights will be available from blk? Or will it be a rather quiet winter? Blk seems to be the only base shrinking routes rather than gaining them. This time last year people were saying Blk was the bright new thing.... honeymoons definately over then, is this what hapens when u place all yer eggs in virtually one basket? Still reports in local paper of possible manufacturing coming to airport,instead of buldozing the hangers, for the bright shiney new terminal that surely isnt going to be needed, maybe they should flaten it all for nice shiney factory...........:}:}:}

Is the airport starting to run at a profit now its under private control or still losing money, hand over fist like it was when it was under council control? And us local taxpayers picking up the bill?

B4 anyone starts shoot ing me down, id hate to see the airport close, used it several times last 12 months, all i'm saying is without new routes it can't produce anymore growth ,pax numbers wise, in turn increases revenue, if flights go back to similar to last year , its going to be very quiet for them, not gonna pay the bills is it? Appologies if u think im sounding doom and gloom, but Jet2 did come and arrive all singing and dancing!!!! Neway hopefully prague and amsterdam will return to boost num,bers, must have been ok last winter for them to continue into the summer... As said before in previouspost , pity they never put another canary route on for winter, still gues there maybe time.....rite ill shut up now.....

MUFC_fan 13th June 2007 19:09

After reading the article about the VLJs, it says that they are to attract the two major companies, who are these? Cessna?

Cheers.

Next we'll be seening a BBJ line!;)

take-off 13th June 2007 20:22

maybe it will be the first Boeing/Airbus joint venture.....:}:}:}:}:}:}:}:}

MUFC_fan 14th June 2007 11:47

Quite a mad morning at BLK today!

An Astreaus 752 (G-OAVB) flew out to PMI 4 hours and 17 minutes late, while a LS 733 positioned in from NCL to operate to ALC, which is running one hour late. Also, the based 733 is 20 minutes late inbound from Malaga! :confused:

Anyway, after a hectic morning, everything seems to be running smoothly, except that all flights inbound before 15.00 are running late including FR!:O

Does anybody know why their is an LS a/c coming in from Basel Mulhouse later today?

Cheers.

BAe 146-100 14th June 2007 16:32

Anyone getting the feeling here that Jet2 kinda don't care about BLK anymore? The delays over the last week or so and BLK have significantly increased.

146

MUFC_fan 14th June 2007 16:40

Could be. They havn't announced their winter season flights from the airport, but not expecting any surprises. Will probably be only two a/c based for the winter with alot of downtime.:uhoh:

FR will return to four-times weekly with the GRO route this winter from the airport with the times staying the same. Flights operate Mon, Wed, Fri and Sun. DUB will remain at daily with exceptional loads over the past few months.

Manx2 will be operating upto five times daily from the airport to the Isle of Man with 48 flights per week. Their winter season will begin before the usual end of October on September 10th.

Jetstream Express have yet to announce their winter schedule, but it is not likely to change. Passenger figures are not looking good, but numbers havn't yet been released but should have done today.

Now we wait for LS to make it's next move. I expect daily BFS, four times weekly AGP and ALC, three times weekly FAO and the twice/weekly TFS rotation. Either the airport will be getting a 752 from the airline for the winter, or the TFS flights will have an aircraft brought in as the origin is currently BLK.

Lets hope the rumours about AB leaving MAN could then cause the airline to look at BLK!:hmm:

commit aviation 14th June 2007 21:59

Maybe Jet2 will use a 737 for TFS this winter.....

Seems expensive to position a 757 in once or twice a week?

take-off 15th June 2007 06:54

EEEK!!!!:eek::eek::eek: Tenerife in oneof Jet2 trabants!!!! I hope not...werent to bad to alicante the other month, bar a bit of interior trim fall off,while we were bouncing down the runway towards the prom!!! Sure the pilot thort he was driving and old Escort XR3:}:}

jet2impress 15th June 2007 08:57

That runway would cause trim to fall off brand new aircraft. Its nothing to do with jet2 aircraft. That runway is sooooo bumpy. I have known nothing like it.
