Flybe are ending both Edinburgh-East Midlands and Glasgow-East midlands.

I wonder if they'll expand into the med if Thomas Cook go bust?

I think it best that Loganair stick to what they know, Flybe should be on their radar rather than Thomas Cook. |

It's rather difficult to see why LM would be able to make this work if Thomas Cook sadly can't. It's not as though Loganair would have lots of high street travel agents or a big web presence to drive leisure customers to book with them, or any cost advantage. I think we can safely say that this would be a suicide mission if TC can't make it work.

Just a ridiculous idea...just to be clear..not having a pop at you Flightrider! |
Well quite. There are so many reasons why this is a non-starter that it's difficult to list all of them at once!

The jets they do have are small and could never , compete with the capacity , the Airbus fleet thatbT.C carried . Weather they buy the braer E Jet or A220 ) which was a subject of an internet and magazine article ,) remains to be seen . Loganair when they branded back to their original. Colours , etc, stated they planned over time to target ' unserved , Northern English airports ', so Eg DTV or DSA/HUY they are at the latter seasonally . And tried DTV but pulled out . With luck they will step in and rescue the DUB, AMD and BHD plus maybe CDG routes lost at DSA. if they did they may finally operate ABZ which the airport has been chasing for yearsx. But they will never be a Thomas Cook ! |

I dont really agree with the above statement. Eg: Brussels airlines is cancelling the brussels nantes flights because the crj was already too big to fill. The embraer of bmi rather was perfect for the job. I think they (logonair) should just stick with the embraer since the demand for seats will shrink. |

New routes to Newquay:
"Loganair will begin services from Newquay to Aberdeen (1 April), Newcastle (1 April), Norwich (3 April) and Glasgow (22 May). Glasgow and Norwich will be summer-seasonal at up to three- and four-weekly respectively. For the first time, Aberdeen and Newcastle will be year-round, both at four-weekly and up to daily in peak summer." https://airlinergs.com/cornwall-airp...d-four-routes/ |
Can't decide whether to be awestruck or scared at the speed of Loganair's expansion...
... into markets that have failed so many before them. |

Don't think NQY to Scotland has been served as a market before so how can it have previously failed?
