Inverness to Dublin 7w -> 3w from 27th Oct
Aberdeen to Esbjerg 11w -> 6w from 27th Oct
Aberdeen to Bristol 12w -> 6w from 27th Oct
Glasgow to Donegal 5w -> 3w from 4th Nov
Glasgow to Dusseldorf 7w -> 6w -> 4w -> 3w reduction from 14th Oct to 2nd Dec
Glasgow to Derry 5w -> 4w from 30th Oct

Quite a pity those reductions. Glasgow-Derry was due for an increase to 6 weekly at a stage actually.

Saabdriver1 27th Aug 2019 20:02

He's pretty much wrong on all of it. ABZ-EBJ and ABZ-BRS have never been 11/12 per week and are keeping their current frequencies. The Irish routes are regular seasonal reductions for the winter and on DUS, it's the first winter so clearly playing it safe.

Don't know about DAT performance on EBJ but the LM service seems to hold up OK.

3 weekly is the normal winter freqency for INV-DUB. I'd imagine all of these frequencies will return come S20.

News article covering pending seasonal reductions and also speculation that some reductions are due to low demand.

It's picking up the same rubbish from Twitter last week which was based on inaccurate info. Amazing how this stuff goes around, and you'd have thought that something which aspires to have credibility would do a better job than lifting this straight off a Twitter feed without checking it.

I wouldn't be surprised if they dropped the seasonal summer service from Bournemouth to the Channel Islands as load factors were around 42% this year, on their first season!

But it's not the routes fault, it's the total lack of advertisement by Loganair and the airport.. I live in Dorchester and only know of this service via pprune and the local spotters group...

Any guesses on what these new routes may be?

I would definitely say Dundee-London City as one of them.

There are rumours of Newcastle to Oslo and to Bergen. We'll wait and see, though...

PDXCWL45 3rd Sep 2019 18:20

Would be nice if they took over Cardiff to Glasgow and Cardiff to Newcastle!

Letsflycwl 3rd Sep 2019 18:27

It would be great to see Loganair pick up the GLA-CWL-GLA service, the EM4 aircraft would be ideal on this route.

Not too sure they would consider CWL-NCL though

Can’t see that being likely. I’d imagine they will go to Southend and consolidate it with their other routes. I don’t think Dundee is a particularly business heavy route.

They would have to use an E135 or Saab to LCY as the E145 isn’t certificated.

Is Glasgow Knock a possibility?
It was a bmiregional route before if my memory serves me right. Might be worthwhile 2 or 3 weekly certainly seasonly. Shannon alternatively.

So a former BMIR route that they haven't picked up already? Might be a bit of a clue there.

Expect it’ll be another direct hit on some Eastern/Flybe routes - likely out of Aberdeen.
Wonder if we’ll see a Teesside base with flights to Aberdeen and (probably part funded) to Southend

Fly757X 3rd Sep 2019 21:21

The contacts director at RCA has mentioned continued work on getting a LDY-Midlands service re-established (as recent as 28/08/19 on a recent radio interview.)

In other news it appears as though Loganair have leased YL-RAI (ATR 72-202F) from RAF-Avia. I presume this is due to near introduction of their own ATR fleet.

I should think so, considering Saab 340's have landed on the very steep and challenging Elba Airport in Italy on a 949m runway ;)
