I most certainly don't.

My question to those of you who wish to insult me or question my motives I must ask if you consider this to be the Flybe-9 discussion thread or the Flybe-9 platitudes and deflection thread. I'm logging off for a while now.

EU261 is a good law that has kept airlines "honest".
Or, alternatively, it is a highly-damaging piece of legislation which has already killed off several otherwise viable domestic routes. And which acts as a huge disincentive to any market entrants contemplating a new service.

A TOC isn't required to award you EUR250 when your rail service is cancelled. They refund the ticket price. Why should a domestic air carrier be obliged to fork out a multiple of the ticket price?

Healthy debate is great. A relentless campaign of negativity directed against one specific corporate entity in isolation is something else. You have been suggesting that maintenance capability may be compromised, that 'Old Etonian mates' have been conspiring together, and all manner of objectionable nonsense. This goes beyond rational discussion. It comes across as slinging mud in the desperate hope that some will stick.

Is EU261 getting kept after the Brexit transition period ends?

bean 1st Feb 2020 17:55

Ozzy spot on
The suggestion that Flybe are could br skimping on maintenance is probably libellous as it seeks to potentially undermine a carrier which is under rxtreme pressure at the moment.: potentially undermining customer confidence

Not to mention , the considerable anxiety which the employees must be siffering

GCILover 1st Feb 2020 17:56

I seriously expected Flybe to reduce or end their flights out of LCY at some point due to the routes they are proposing to run from SEN this year. I am surprised to see a 3 daily LUX flight starting the end of March.

EU261 applies to any carrier flying into Europe so it certainly will for those flights. In theory it could dropped for ROW and domestic.

Luxembourg could be a really smart move. Luxair operates this route and fares are regularly £350+ round trip. Times look pretty good for business as well.

Looking at the new routes they are launching from SEN this year. Direct EDI flights aren't showing in the booking engine and I only found a few direct IOM flights. Are they having a serious rethink already?

,

I asked. I didn't state therefore it is not libel and if the Moderator wades in he or she will confirm that I flagged it at the time of posting to see if the forum operators were comfortable with the topic being raised.

SEN-EDI looks like it starts on the 15th June.

It isn't the passengers' fault that age profile of FlyBE planes is so high
That demonstrates either a lack of knowledge or is really just plain trolling.

Average age of the Flybe fleet is, what, 12-15 years for the Dashes and 8-9 for the EMB175's.

I see you are from Germany, so maybe compare that to average fleet age in your national carrier?

That's the date it was always planned to start. SEN-GLA starts on 1st May, a little later than originally announced, and SEN-IOM commences 30th April as 5 x weekly and becomes 7 x weekly from the start of June. SEN-JER commences 2nd May and now shows two flights on Wednesdays and Saturdays with one of those operating SEN-JER-GCI-SEN and the other SEN-JER-SEN.

I can’t seem to find LUX from either LCY or SEN. Which airport are they introducing 3 flights in to/out of?

Please try to approach the topic honestly. A plane in its teens used for short daily domestic operations has a huge number of cycles on the airframe and is nothing like a plane crossing the Atlantic once a day or making a bucket and spade trip down to the south of Spain.

Seems pertinent. If they don't pay their Air traffic control fees the planes will be impounded irrespective of whether the planes are owned or leased.

This screenshot actually mentions that rising maintenance costs are in part precipitating this crisis so... are they dutifully paying these maintenance costs or balking at the them in the face of their obligations.

This part is especially interesting

A collapse on the other hand, would bring the scruting of the Insolvency Service and regulators.

And they are designed to take account of that. Their fleets are younger than competitors like Loganair and Eastern, and their jet fleets are also younger than Cityflyers - your point is??

Another speculative article from the Telegragh, who also seem to have an agenda - no evidence that BE owe any ATC debts?
