The aircraft wasn't chocked correct.

INKJET 21st Nov 2009 15:07

Chocked correctly or not there is no way it would weather cock through 140 degree's, if the park brake was set add to which there are no tire/tyre drag marks on what was clean dry concrete, perhaps they were MOL lowcost chocks or confiscated Tobrolone bars from passengers¬¬¬ he he

Yes Boeing Junkie that's a great example, if such time and effort was spent in other area's then maybe there would have been a few more new base announcements and a few less new coffee shop announcements over the years.

I dont claim to have an MBA in Business Management however one equation seems obvious to me;

NO AIRLINES = NO PAX = NO AIRPORT (INCLUDING SHOPS)

:ugh:

FR- 23rd Nov 2009 09:52

Seems odd that BRS and LPL have same ryanair base manager as EMA but no new routes as of yet. Guess we will have to wait untill wednesday.

SAM-EMA 23rd Nov 2009 10:56

Why? What's happening on Wednesday?

Thanks

Hmm, I see the EMA passenger stat for October has been removed from the CAA provisional list.
It looks as if Olton Pete may have been correct and they were too high. :uhoh:

BHX5DME 24th Nov 2009 12:17

The CAA have done a recount and EMA was down 13.3% not up 2.4% as previously posted - 416,496 pax

Any news on who will be handling Jet2 from May?

BOAC4ME 27th Nov 2009 14:46

Many thks:ok:

BOAC4ME 2nd Dec 2009 11:34

Current EMA Handling Agreements

The current handling agreements are: (changes possible in the near future)

Servisair:

Ryanair
Thomson Airways
Thomas Cook Airlines
Eurocypria
BH Air
Hamburg International
Koral Blue
Futura

Menzies:

Easyjet (until end date)
Eastern Airways
Manx2.com
Jet 2
BMI Baby / Regional (Baggage & Ramp)

Think thats about it, obviously Easyjet are pulling out and Thomson Airways contract is currently under tender.

OliWW 2nd Dec 2009 14:54

Thomson will always stay at Servisair, over the UK it is either Servisair or Swissport, so Menzies, I doubt it!

BOAC4ME 2nd Dec 2009 15:57

Hey OliWW, i'm not claiming to know anything you dont but as much as what you said is true, they decide the contracts on a 'local' basis and if it were the case that either a) they were dissatisfied with any element of Servisair's performance or b) they are using this as a cost cutting excersize then who knows. There is no swissport at EMA, so at the end of the day if either of the above are true then there is only one other option.

You may well be right, but it certainly wouldnt shock me if it went to Menzies but who knows, I guess we will find out soon. There are many people/handling agents/airlines up and down the country who have fallen victim to complacency over the last few years.

I see the 'Fun Police' have been in action at EMA, nice big 6ft high green sheeting going up along the fence adjacent to crash gate 3/spotters lane/diseworth road - call it what you will. I can just imagine the conversation in 'Fun Police' HQ " there's people over there minding there own business and enjoying themselves, we must put a stop to this at once!"...
Rhino Power,

They are building a new viewing mound at the top of the aeropark on that side of the gate, So I would imagine it is to do with that to stop making a big mess other side of the fence, the build is in progress as we speak.. Suprising in this economic climate, so I've got to applaud them for going ahead with it..

The CEO of EMA was on working lunch yesterday. Bright red hair, but she did seem to have the right ideas :ok:
