I know it's not the be all and end all (looking at you, BMI) but it seems insane.
Interlining isn't within BE's gift - serious airlines look carefully at who they partner with.

On Scotland-MAN, Business Air hubbed at MAN they were a Lufthansa partner, the logo was on the aircraft. Now BA obviously fed the based jet fleet but was Loganair not point to point? The trains are just so much better nowadays though.

FLBB seems to have gone tech in NQY, hence an aircraft has been moved down from BHD to cover. BHD-LBA/GLA cancelled too (again). EXTB also seems to have run into an issue hence all of AMS-LHR/BHD is now cancelled

I am supposed to be flying LHR-NCL tomorrow and virtually have accepted with two tech aircrafts I’ll be getting the train given there’s 11 people checked in on the flight.Thankfully LNER give vouchers if you need to cancel, so I’ve booked as I’m 90% sure it won’t go ahead.

So, is flybe using any other airlines aircraft to cover when things go wrong, or do they just cancel the flights/

Is there not a rule which requires airlines to find you an alternative flight with another airline (BA to LHR in this case) or does that only apply to flights out of the UK?

There is a requirement for carriers to find alternative transport. Flybe has been flying pax on other routes and providing a bus. I saw one who’s flight to EMA was cancelled and Flybe rerouted them BHD-NCL and then minibus to EMA.

If the rerouting is not adequate you’re able to rebook yourself and try and claim back the costs but I doubt Flybe are paying it without a fight.

Only if you cancel before 1800 the day prior to travel.

For an actual refund, correct. They’ve got something called Book with Confidence, however, which stemmed from COVID. Have used Book with Confidence many times and cancelled on the day with no issues. They just issue a voucher.

Taken from website: “Book with confidence until 30 November 2022. You can change your tickets fee-free or request an eVoucher which are valid for 12 months.Refunds can take up to 28 days to process.”

Nevertheless, I’m not going to have this issue anyways as they’ve got a tech aircraft in LHR and in NQY and they’re not usually the quickest getting them back in position. I’m almost certain they’ll be cancelled tomorrow.

That's another two of the Next Generation models then. I was under the impression originally that they were sticking with the older models.

Word on other fora is that some of the ex-Flybe1 a/c that they were due to acquire are in such a poor state having been parked-up in northern Europe for 2 years that alternatives needed to be sourced.

G-FLBA

G-FLBA did a strange one today. It came In to EMA on the BE367 from BHD , they cancelled the outbound BE368 and it postioned straight to Birmingham empty.

Thankfully made it back today with BE on LHR-NCL.

NCL-LHR - 6 pax.
LHR-NCL - 15 pax.

BHD was apparently good loads with 120, in total, for the full sector..

They’re absolutely only operating the LHR route to keep the slots. But not sure how long they can make it last.

Second time this week. Same with the also cancelled BHD-LBA/GLA services.

When do the airports start asking questions?

the airports don't have to do anything - word will get out to the customers fast enough - we're probably a slow news day away from a Media special on them

this is very sad - it was always going to be a tough struggle but honestly - this is a shambles.

Just goes to show there's nothing new under the sun. No doubt the leguminous contributor will recall Jacks Empty Airline
