Has anybody go access to the monthly PAX numbers to the various destinations to see which are performing well?

The CAA has, available for download in csv and pdf formats, but the latest data are for February so far as I can see.

It’s the same for all U.K. Airports, not just CWL. Figures for February were only input & released this week. Not surprisingly February figures are low but January & February have always been low for CWL.

With the increase of flights with FR and the ORY flights with T3 these should now start to gradually creep back up.

Interesting to see with the ORY flight, AF have now added their flight code share (only showing at present on ORY departures & arrivals yet still can’t book it with AF direct at present.

TUI Summer 2024

Nice increases to TUI ops from CWL next year. Increases to Tunisia / Cyprus / Turkey. Is this a fourth a/c does anyone know or W pattern flights? If a fourth, might we see more?

From TUI press release - no mention of addition a/c, unlike the other bases that are getting additional

A new direct route to Sharm El Sheik, Egypt from Cardiff Airport will be introduced as well as 40,000 additional seats.

Other carriers to what destinations ? TUI have a 3 aircraft base in the summer season….I’m guessing if other carriers are flying for Summer 2024 it would most probably be to Turkey?

NBE and the Monday AYT are showing as other carrier. The additional PFO and SSH are TOM. And yes these are for the additional 2024 flights :-)

Expect we will see FHY (Freebird) on the AYT no doubt and guessing BJ (Nouvelair) on the NBE possibly?

Any idea when Ryanair will release Winter 2023-2024, they seem to have released majority of U.K. schedule but not CWL yet.

Could some new destinations be in the pipeline or will it be the same destinations of BFS, DUB, FAO & AGP ?

It would be great to see Tenerife, Malta and Barcelona return but unlikely until summer apart from maybe Tenerife. It’s unlikely we will have more additions this winter unless Belfast frequency is increased or the odd twice daily to Dublin.

Strange that the CWL schedule not gone live yet though. FR seem to have a much better relationship with CWL these days. Agree with you about TFS, MLA & BCN. These would be a good choice of destinations to reintroduce but who knows what is going on…..let’s hope it’s positive.

So EZY have just announced a new 3 aircraft base at ALC. Presume this to be under EJU. Stir things up a bit here but would they ever get enticed into operating ALC-CWL-ALC. They’ve done it at BOH with GVA flights.

Before anyone starts by saying this would affect the BRS base & passenger figures, it could still potentially be done. I doubt the BRS contract would state that EZY are not allowed to operate from CWL & just look at how many EZY diversions CWL has accepted and handled over the years……surely this has to have some say and pulling power.

Just a suggestion/thought.

Not sure about EZY but did notice that Ryanair is back to 4 times a week to Dublin from November. So not sticking with daily sadly.

Why would easyJet want to operate to CWL from their new Alicante base?

easyJet have had bases at Malaga, Palma, and Faro for five plus years and never operated from these bases to Cardiff.

Freebird Airlines

Freebird Airlines (FHY) appear to be operating the Monday AYT-CWL-AYT flight as of June 2023 for TUI (according to TUI booking app).

Is this a change and in place on TUI metal ?
