Maybe it would have been better to not even do it in the first place!
I’ve heard on the ramp that the new stands they are building off taxiway Delta are going to have the aircraft park nose in at night and then turned around to allow first wave departures without a pushback crew. I think a nice idea on paper, but the GH companies having the resources to do that I am not confident.

The news about the Dart.. it beggars belief. How can they charge nearly £10 per person for a journey like that?! Surely if you buy a ticket from London to Luton Airport, it will not be £9.80 more to include the Airport to Parkway section...
Also the reason given for the delay in opening. I translate that to them arguing over who's going to make the most money from it, an entirely unacceptable reason for another years worth of delay. Unbelievable.

Luton Rising Temperature statement
Hello, we can confirm that the fare is going to be priced at £4.90 per way. We understand that there will be mixed opinions on the price however the fare is based on independent assessment and sound rationale, reflecting the value of time saved and convenience and the quality of what we are providing compared to what went before. However we are happy to say that residents of Luton will be able to apply in advance for half-price tickets. The DART will also be free to all passengers holding a concessionary bus pass, such as pensioners, people with a disability or acting as companion travellers.

Isn't the bus currently £2.40 single and £3.80 return so you expect ~£7 for the return ticket on DART, also what is currently the price difference if booking a train ticket from St Pancras to Parkway vs Airport ? Doesn't the train booking systems consider them as two separate destinations?

So they have said you cannot book a return, has to be two singles?
If I book a return currently next month from Farringdon it is £29.00 to Parkway, if I do it to the airport then it is £32.80 so the return bus fare is added automatically.

There will be no discount for a return. £29.00 + £4.90 + £4.90 = £38.80 return assuming it is bookable seeing that the Dart has nothing to do with the railway, unlike the shuttle bus that is part of a Thameslink.
I assume a Thameslink Group Save ticket would not be valid for a complete journey.

Ok let's compare travel from Central London, tfl will charge you £12.80 via tube whereas Heathrow Express will set you back £25.00, so when LR said they made an independent assessment I'm sure the looked at such prices and differences for Gatwick Thameslink/Southern vs Gatwick Express.
One of my searches also brought me to a train bulletin board similar to pprune, back in 2018 it was stated that the DART would be at least £3 one way then.
Let's wait for the offical announcement on whether any reductions apply buying on-line in advanced for an exact date or flex and other concessions.

Footie Charters
Flyr Max due tomorrow to take the Norwegian footie team home. Don't know yet about the other Enter 737 charters for fans. Another Corendon charter went to SEN.
Brentford FC flying up to Newcastle, would expect Liverpool to come down in a Horizont or such for Sunday game at Arsenal.

New route 3x weekly with Wizz from mid-Dec to Amman, Jordan.
Entry level fares with British Airways and Royal Jordanian between LHR and AMM are particularly high given the distance - one wonders if BA + RJ both being in OneWorld were pricing their flights in a similiar way to how a monopolist might

Surprised Jordanians let this one in, didn't British Midland do this in it's day so maybe agreements for two UK carriers?
Still think more to come to Egypt.

bmi inherited the route from BA/BMED and it went back to BA with the subsequent sale. EZY has been serving Amman for a while, with some pretty punchy fares compared to Egypt/Greece, and O&D fares for BA and RJ are indeed high; I suspect Wizzair just saw an opportunity.
