This is sad.
While people rightly jumped on the suggestion that it was "essential" , what it was was "very important" in many areas. The UK will be a worse place without it.
I hope there is room in the industry for lots of Q400 crews

Wouldn’t take any notice of that tw*t Simon Calder, real misery-merchant.
in better news, FLBC has finally been refuelled and allowed to leave and just departed MAN on its way to EXT.

Well,my nearest airport is Norwich, and the fares to Edinburgh with Loganair are eye wateringly expensive compared to the low cost carriers from Stansted etc. About 5 times the price. Ok for business bods who aren't paying themselves, but good luck with getting Joe Bloggs to pay that for a short break.

Simon Calder does my head in. I hope Flybe do survive the night and can then sue this moron. He shouldn’t be announcing anything, he is not the CAA

Tonyq- it’s gone. Period. All the aircraft in Manchester are impounded. There is no fuel. Branson has pulled the plug. He’s got what he wanted and dumped the bits he didn’t want. Sad and tough but you have to accept the truth

It was clear from 1930 this evening just after two flights had departed BHX that the end was nigh. Flybe have done their best this evening to get crews back to base and pax to destination. Some never made it due fuel suppliers being unwilling to let Flybe uplift fuel which started a lot of wrong speculation.
The last flight due back tonight is from Germany at about 2300 hence the delay in an official announcement.

Not quite as bad as Alex Macheras. Qatari funded kid who is on LBC and Al Jazeera as soon as anything happens yet doesn’t have a clue what he’s talking about. Claims to be an analyst but just regurgitates press releases with no analysis.

not all. As you’ve seen one just left for EXT, another 2 are still on the ground with a full load of pax (BFS/ABZ, think SOU returned to stand and was impounded but might be wrong) I mean it’s unlikely they’ll actually get anywhere, but just do be “that guy”, not all are impounded, yet anyway.

PRPH arriving into LHR for its scheduled nightstop. Should the proverbial hit the fan, it won’t be cheap for the leasing company/administrators to park that thing up at LHR for a few days.
